Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Pours black with thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, and chocolate. Taste of chocolate, burnt malt, and slight coffee notes. Light bite of hops in the finish. Good but like the oaked version better.

Aroma of sticky hops and roast coffee. Appearance is jet black with a thick tan head that diminishes to a tan line across the top of the beer. Slight lacing on the glass. Flavor is complex with an incredible blend of coffee, cocoa, dark cherry, alcohol, and rye bread. Flavor is sharp up front, smooth/sweet in the middle, and dry and bitter in the finish. Bravo!

Poured from Bottle into Snifter glass. Pours a smooth dense black with a creamy mocha colored head that very slowly dissolves into a good layer around the glass. The aroma is mostly coffee bean with some roasted malts. The flavor is sweet chocolate upfront accompanied by some coffee, toffee, caramel and finishes with a soft slightly dry bitterness. Its a full bodied beer and has a velvet-like creaminess. Very nicely balanced Imperial Stout that isn’t too bitter and isn’t too sweet. Nice complex palate, delicious beer.

22oz. of pure black goodness capped with a chocolate-colored fluffy head with strong retention. Strong smells of roasted malt, roasted chocolate, roasted roast, and other roasty aromas. Flavor continues the tour through the roaster with walnuts, more chocolate, lots of smoke, and a touch of booze. One step below its Oak-Aged brother because of the bite of alcohol and the super-strong smoke flavor, but still great!

This year’s Yeti is even better than last year. What a wicked bottle oily goodness. One of my favorites of the year, and if you can find it, you gotta try it!

Bomber...wel bomblet (650ml) from the local Hannaford’s market. Not to shabby for $3.99. Dark and black with a one inch tall thick dens head. Yeah this fits the mold quite well. Body begins in the expected large and bold fashion and takes an un expected turn when the bitternes comes chiefly from burnt black patent crispiness. only in the finish can I dicern the mellow steady hoppiness from the choco-patent mountain. A sneaky critter that blends into the surroundings and then hits you with a rock.. in other words the alcohol snuck up o my ass and settled me comfortably in my chair.

You could fill a pen up with this stuff and literally write with it. Almost pure black and very thick. Guiness only wishes they could make a stout this good. Great beer. I bought a case of 22 oz bottles and I’m a trappist quad drinker.
