gpekar (221), Maryland, USA Mar 10, 2009 Poured a thick black color with a tall, creamy, foamy brown head that left a good deal of lacing. The aroma was like a glass of chocolate milk, but not too strong. The aroma was the only less than stellar thing aboutt his beer. There was a strong flavor throughout the glass. Initially there was a lightly sweet chocolate flavor that rolled into a strong espresso flavor with a hint of alcohol coming through the flavor. The finish had a somewhat bitter bite from the hops and the strong flavor. The finish lasted a good long time. Excellent beer!!!!!!! SaintMatty (1197), Tallinn, Estonia Mar 10, 2009 Draught (Pikkulintu, Helsinki) - Black in colour. The aroma has hops, chocolate and some coffee notes. Roasted and hoppy taste with coffee and chocolate featuring again. Nice to drink, but I think the hops are a bit excessive for a beer of this type. I would prefer more roasted notes. mistersinalin (367), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Mar 7, 2009 Silky oil! This is yet another fine example of an Imperial Stout. I just love the malt intensity and smooth delivery of such a high alcohol content. A sipper for sure, but just becuse you want to savor the flavor. GMCC2181 (846), Bear, Delaware, USA Mar 3, 2009 Bottle. 09. New batch with new label. Black... small toffee colored head that faded. Nice aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. Taste is lots of roasted malts, but it well balanced with a hop bitterness in the after taste. Coffee and chocolate in there as well. texture is thick but not chewy. A very well done beer. Overall a good impy! Reed415 (8), Youngstown, Ohio, USA does not count Mar 3, 2009 Around a year old when sampled. Pours almost completely black with a dark tan head. Nose is full of Chocolate roasted malt. Flavor is full of chocolate sweetness and roastiness. The year of age has done this beer very well. Very thick in mouthfeel. Overall a great beer. MoritzF (4859), Bochum, Germany Feb 26, 2009 (35.5cl bottle) Black colour with a brown and dense, medium-sized foamy head. Moderately sweet and roasted malty aroma with notes of licorice, dark chocolate, coffee and traces of aromatic citrus-fruity hops far in the background. Bitter flavour with a delicate but balancing sweetness, full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Roasty malt-character with licorice, notes of coffee and chocolate and a fine, very subtle hoppy tail lingering into the dry, roast-malty finish with a lasting aftertaste of coffee and chocolate. Not overly complex but very addictive (26.II.09). ditmier (1021), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 23, 2009 2008 Bottle -Thanks BeersandBlues!...pours a murky black with a large frothy tan head...aroma is massive dark chocolatey malt, pine resin...flavour is similar...I kept waiting for the bitters, but never found them, even finishes a bit sweet... I don’t find this very bitter at all, just a nice, rich roasty chocolate stout...booze is nicely hidden as well....good stuff! possumjc (99), Charleston - Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, USA Feb 22, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep dark chocolate brown with a thick frothy mocha colored head. The aroma is great with strong notes of coffee and chocolate. Thick texture. Main flavors evoke thoughts of thick black coffee and dark chocolate. There is a nice balance of hoppy finish. I have had the Oak Aged Yeti too but it was a while back. This one is outstanding and makes me want to revisit the Oak Aged.
