I don’t know of the date on the bottle, but this is nowhere near as hoppy as Old Rasputin, and I found it to be quite enjoyable, fantastic even. Can’t wait to dive into the Oaked one I have in my cellar. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 2, 2009 A very solid (but not standout) imperial stout, which is quickly becoming my favorite style of brewski. Roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate on the aroma. Has most of your standard American RIS flavors: coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt. Also adds vanilla, bourbon, and more hop bitterness than usual. Nice full and smooth palate. A very good beer, but doesn’t quite stand up to something like AleSmith Speedway Stout. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA

Aromas are of rich espresso, hops, and dark fruits. Flavor is a of espresso and chocolate. Nice thick body with raisons and a great taste.

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Pours like any perfect Imperial Stout. It is pitch black, thick, with a dark mahogany head. Aroma is pure coffee and nothing else. Flavor is huge, with a coffee and dark chocolate body, finished with a bitter sweet burnt/toasted malt. This and the oak aged Yeti are amongst the tops in their class. sbroome (72), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 29, 2009 If this was a tad cheaper, my weight would certainly climb.
Black, thick and big. Tan head invites you in to a nose of roasted dark chocolate and carmel. Very expasive stout that leaves itself open for interpretation, such as definate roasted malt and toffee with some mild molasses. Some say coffee, however being a coffee-beer lover, I didn’t get it. It’s a little more hoppy than you would think a imperial stout to be. One of my all-time favorites. Thank you, Great Divide. tlind2 (560), Helsinki, Finland

Hoppy aroma with black patent malt. Bitter flavor with a huge amount of delicious chocolate, nicely balanced. Full body, medium-light carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. A very nice IS indeed! stefanje (938), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 27, 2009 650ml bottle courtesy of mreusch. Pours a dark black color with a small tan head. The aroma is strong with roasted malts, dark fruits, coffee and cocoa. The taste is rich with more dark fruits, caramel, biter walnuts, burnt toast, dark chocolate and something earthy. The mouthfeel is extraordinarily smooth and creamy. The finish is long and dry with lingering walnuts. Overall: A very nice IRS, extra points for great mouthfeel. Thanks Matt.
