Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottle. Seriously pitch brew swelling with an outlandish milk-chocolate coloured head subsiding to a slender collar. Never seen anything like it. Plenty more milk chocolate in the aroma- Neopolitan ice-cream on grapefruit, dusted with cocoa powder . Unquestionably beautiful but I like my big stouts with a tweak more roast. Faultless whipped mousse palate to let all those pungent soapy grapefruit and floral (rose) notes breathe. Quinine and burnt toast bitterness in a big abrupt finish. No aftertaste but the sensation of intense shampoo bitterness. Hint of liquorice, mostly soap. What happened to the chocolate? Lovely , pungently hopped beer but it tastes like an IPA. There’s milds of 3% with bigger malt profiles than this. That said, I loved it. More smoke, cocoa, coffee or dark fruit flavour required to achieve true stoutiness, but I’m nitpicking. A great beer.

Fantastic. Bottle poured ink-black with small caramel head. Just the right amount of carbonation (little!). Great tasting stout that starts out bitter, stays bitter in the middle, and finishes even stronger. The alcohol kicks in nicely too.

(Draught at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2009-01-22) Pitch black. Small tan coloured head. Roastedness, hops and vanilla in aroma. Full bodied palate, dry and with little carbonation. Roastedness, lot of bitterness, bit of vanilla, coffee, liquorice and chocolate. Roasty and bitter aftertaste.

2008 bottle courtesy of BMan1113VR, thank you Andrew for my first RB trade in person. Pours pitch black with a large tan head that quickly fell off into a tan ring around the top of this black brew. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is huge! roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel with a touch of citrusy piney hops. Finish is bitter , citrus/pine, long and dry. Very nice stout! I am really looking forward to the BA version, thank you again to Andrew.

This is a very good stout. Lots of chocolate, coffee, and toasted malt flavors, as well as some well appreciated fruit flavors like dark cherry. I bit of alcohol on the nose, but the beer is nicely balanced, and very tasty.

Easy drinker of an Imp Stout. Nice pour, very dark brown with thin brown head. Aroma of chocolate and caramel. Flavor the same with some coffee and roasted malts. Smooth and nice bitterness. Solid brew.

2005 bottle courtesy of Retorp. Pours a dark brown to black color with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of wood, smoke, coffee, ripe dark fruits, some smoke and roasted overtones. Flavor is malty, sweet and full of roasted chocolate and coffee notes with notes of ripe dark fruit, molasses, hints of tobacco and toffee. Generally medium body with a pleasing chocolate and coffee finish.
