Thanks Mike! Quarter inch off white head. Nose is dark fruit and sugar. Taste is heavy malt and mocha. Good solid beer from great divide. boFNjackson (1262), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 27, 2008 Tap @ Green Dragon... Poured black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and biscuits and like an amaretto liquor. Palate had a nice sizzle on the tongue with a certain dryness towards the finish. Strong mocha flavors mixed with a tiny bit of hops and roasted malt. Very robust but also easy to drink. Indulgence (141), Ajo, Arizona, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Bold, black and beautiful... while the oak aged gets the nod as one of the best IS in this world, this one is no slouch and is blissfully palatable... creamy goodness, and black chocolate coffee heaven waits the lips of the recipient. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Dark black pour with a lasting creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted caramel malts and dark toffee. Initial sweetness easing into long lasting hoppy bitterness. Much milder flavors compared to the Oak Aged Yeti and since it now comes in 6 packs, I’ll be back for more! rederic (1803), montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 23, 2008 On tap at the brewery, pitch black color, with a tan-colored head, leafy, coniferous hop nose, with some piney, cedary notes, coming out first, with some dark chocolate, black coffee, roasty malt accents, in a warmth aroma follows through on a full-bodied palate with a sweet roasted, caramelized malt, coniferous, piney hop character, with a dark bitter chocolate, roasted coffee bean flavor, with some leafy, grassy bitterness, with hint of caramel, molasses, leading towards a chocolatey, well hop leafy, coniferous warming, bittering finish. The finish is more on the side of the hoppiness than the roastiness. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 23, 2008 Pours a very dark brown in color, we’ll just call it black. A very nice inch of brown head forms on the pour. Smell is heavily roasted malts and some nice coffee. I was expecting a ton of hops in the nose, but thankfully they’re not there. More of the hops show up in the taste, but still, for the better, not as much as was aniticipated. This is much better than I remember it being. I think with some age this would be a very good beer. Comparable to, dare I say it, Bells Expedition. Full on the mouthfeel and nice. MarthaPromise (12), Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 23, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours deep black with dark tan head. Nice thin lacing.that sticks around awhile. Smells of coffee, caramel, and alcohol. Medium to heavy in the mouth. Tasted a bit hoppier than l expected for an imperial stout. Very good however and a nice take on the style. Will seek out and drink again as the year winds down. Beardface (984), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 22, 2008 Inky black with a thick tan head. Smells of alcohol, chocolate, coffee and tastes of the same with some licorice thrown in. Surprisingly heavily hopped for such a heavy stout, but the hops aren’t intrusive and acutally add much to the overall enjoyment level. Absolutely love this one.
