bigrond (1043), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 18, 2008 excellent beer. Dark, roasted flavor. Has that ’grainy’ mouthfeel and high abv content that I covet. Very hoppy for a stout but delicous none the less. Haslinger (640), Syracuse, New York, USA Jun 17, 2008 Bottle, the smell is malty with some molasses. a bit the palate is just dry with some malt, a bit of popcorn buterryness. Not bad at all would buy again Reed944 (8), Jamesville, New York, USA does not count Jun 17, 2008 Well, my first beer officially rated on Ratebeer, thanks to my friend haslinger. I was a bit afraid throwing down just top numbers on my first beer, but this beer just exceeds all expectations. A very smooth, but heavy flavor loaded with hops and chocolate. Absolutely one of the best beers I’ve ever had.
(oh and light cannot pass through it) wyzzywyz22 (754), Wirral, Merseyside, England Jun 17, 2008 Updated: Nov 28, 2008Bottle, Utobeer, London. Poured nearly as dark as the abyss, with a great looking head. Anticipated a good thing here....and wasn’t too disappointed. Aroma was coffee and chocolate tinged with a healthy dose of fruit and hop. Delicieux. Creamy, rich mouthfeel. Flavour was sweetish and contained more of the chacteristics of the aroma with added roasted malt and toffee. Dryish hoppy finish. Top notch stout. arrogantb (695), Denver, Colorado, USA Jun 11, 2008 Serving type: bottle

12 oz. bottle dated 04/2006 so this is not quite a year old. The pour is really inky black and looks like motor oil. The head was a large brown coffee-colored fluff. The smell was roasty and hoppy at the same time. The beer really laced the glass well and thickly I might add. The taste was very hoppy, chocolatey, and I also tasted cookie-dough in there. The mouthfeel was a little thin and one of the only drawbacks to this beer. I prefer the Oak-Aged Yeti because the oak really seems to tame the hops and mellow the beer. I like hoppy beers but not hoppy stouts. Anyway, this is still a winner but get the Oaked if you see them side-by-side in the liquor store.
Update 12/23/07
Mouthfeel has firmed up, nice aromas, no doughy flavor this time, roasty with a bitterness that lasts, I bet this can age awhile longer. dyetube (397), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 8, 2008 This beer pours a black color with a thin tan head. Aroma is strong chocolate and coffee. the flavors are the same. Very dry and the chocolate lingers for quite some time after the sip. A very good beer!
