Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland May 29, 2008 Near black colored with red hints. Medium sized beige head. Strong roasted aroma with vanilla note, berries, creamy chocolate and fine hops also present, soft aroma which reminds me lot about oak-aged brother of this. Medium to full bodied, smooth and creamy palate. Flavor is also rich with roastiness and chocolaty-caramelly tone in start, aftertaste turns to hopped with sweet chocolate still. Finely balanced and rather similar to OA-version. kevin62 (267), New Jersey, USA May 26, 2008 12oz bottle-This poured to a nice dark black with a thin tan head.Aromas were heavy chocolate and malts. The taste was of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, and vanilla.Great lacing for a great beer from Great Divide. chicagodri (1021), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 25, 2008 Pours a dark black with a thin tan head. Nice aroma of chocolate, and actually a lot of hops. For an Imperial Stout the hops actually really stand out. Nice full body. A really good Imperial Stout. Worth a try. The Etruscan (304), Tuscany, Italy May 23, 2008 Creamy brown head. Black colour. Aroma is malty, fruity (raisins) with candy and light chocolate and coriander notes. Bottiglia da 37.5cl comprata da ciobì. uhclem (188), Loveland, Colorado, USA May 17, 2008 Pours a deep black with a nice mocha head that subsides fairly rapidly. Good lacing. Nose is malt, coffee and chocolate. These are reprised in the taste. Chocolate is bitter; a nice touch.Outstanding mouthfeel - full-bodied but not syrupy. It massages the tongue and palate. Aftertaste lingers, accentuating the hops. Well done. mrw1zard (54), Birmingham, Alabama, USA May 14, 2008 Pours a nice dark brown/black with a tan head. Let this one warm up a bit before making your final judgement. Nice flavor or coffee and chocolate malts. Not much of an alcohol aftertaste. I want more.
