Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottle. Opaque black with a big bubbly brown head that disappears slowly, bubble by bubble. Aroma of dark chocolate and some coffee. A very nice sweet malty flavor with some roasted chocolate, caramel, a bit of coffee and hints of alcohol. Finishes bitter with a mix of roastiness and bittering hops. Medium to full-bodied. A very tasty stout.

Pours black with a moderate caramel-colored head that really lasts. Aromas of roasted malt, caramel and coffee with a hint of floral hops. Taste is very hoppy (at least for a stout) with a strong coffee malt aftertaste. Mouthfeel is as smooth and thick as you would expect from the look of the beer. Very bold flavor, with more hops and complexity than most stouts. Very nice.

Bottle from Utobeer. Near black in colour, impenetrable with a decent tight tan head with flecks of red. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and citrus/pine resin hops. Big flavours of roasted malt and chewy caramel, giving way to grapefruit and a long dry finish with a rush of warming alcohol. This beer certainly was bold throughout but, as others have mentioned, it didn’t quite come together - it seemed like a half and half of two beers, one imperial stout and the other hoppy. Enjoyable nonetheless.

Un orgasmo per i sensi. Eccellente equilibrio. Aroma maltato con note di cioccolato, caffé, caramello. Gusto morbido in cui prevale un amaro molto gradevole con una leggera e piacevole astringenza.

22oz bomber poured into a snifter. Pour is opaque black, and very thick. There’s a small brown head of thick, large bubbles and it dissipates quite quickly. Aroma is as thick as the beer - dark roasted malts with chocolatey notes with a touch of resinous hops. Take a drink and it’s just as thick as you’d expect it to be with tastes of roasted malts and coffee that finishes with a nice hop bitterness. Pretty well balanced with the caramelized sweetness of the malts offset by the hops. Very good beer.

Pours a deep, dark black, with a very creamy mocha head. Wow, this is a good looking beer. The aroma is mostly bitter roasted malts, with some chocolate and coffee present too. Maybe some mild citrus hops too? The flavor is quite bitter - there is a definite hop presence when the beer first hits the tongue, mostly piney. A bitter roasted malt flavor hits next, fading into a surprisingly dry chocolate/toffee finish. A very good beer, but not my favorite imperial stout.

Pours thick and syrupy topped with an espresso like head. Roasted malt aroma. Flavour begins with slightly burnt roasted malts with a smokey edge. Later, hints of aniseed come through. Some hops hidden in the finish that have a bitter, drying effect.

bomber. This was dark with a finger-sized, sparkling brown head which dissipated quickly except at edge. Good, uneven lacing. Nose was roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Taste was chocolate with the same roastiness of the nose and coffee. The mouthfeel was thick with some dry ash and a bitter chocolate aftertaste. Not as complex as the Oak Aged, but still very good.
