BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Apr 4, 2008 Excellent stout. Poured black as night with a nice creamy head. Acquired in a 22oz bottle. Flavors were rich in roasted dark chocolate and malt. Strength makes it just right! SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Apr 2, 2008 Black in color with a brown head that left a thin layer. Aromas were sweet with scents of chocolate, vanilla and coffee. On the other hand, in the mouth it showed hoppy bitterness throughout along with sweet roasted malt in the backgroud. It had solid weight but it did not come off as heavy. There was a touch of alcohol noticable on the finish but it was not obtrusive. buckyp (32), Rio Rancho, New Mexico, USA Mar 31, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Yeti are powerful and elusive. Dark to black opaque pour with thick caramel head. Heavy malt coffee flavor with slight hop bitterness. Although alcohol is high, it never took over the taste at any point. Dark chocolate flavor late in the glass to finsih with the strongest of the hops. Would be an interesting brew to shelve and try in a year to see how much smoother the current smoothness can get. Vas19 (293), Maryland, USA Mar 29, 2008 Jan 08, young bottle. Pours black with thin tan head. Surprisingly hoppy nose, with a bit of chocolate malt. Nice chocolate and coffee malt taste with a nice bitter hops finish. Great coffee in there. A real nice stout. FleeVT (40), Boca Raton, Florida, USA Mar 28, 2008 22oz. bomber with no date into a nonic.
Syrupy black with no light penetration through the glass capped with a light brown fluffy head thick head that could hold a quarter up.
Sweet smelling, almost like Bailey’s Irish cream. A refreshing chocolate milk mixed with maple syrup and a heavy dose of alcohol.
The palate is sweet to start, with chocolate and caramel characteristics; then comes the espresso, lots of it. It literally coats your tongue. You finally get the alcohol kick in the back of the throat. Bitterness is present in the form of hops towards the end, as well.
Thick and syrupy, with medium to heavy carbonation. This is not a beer for wusses.
1 bomber is more than enough for a sitting.
Good beer from the Divide. Codythegreat (133), Carrollton, Georgia, USA Mar 27, 2008 Pours a dark opaque black with a dark brown head. When they said it was an onslaught on the senses they weren’t kidding. It has a very malty taste with a bitter after taste. I drank this out of a shaker. FatTony (121), Augusta, Georgia, USA Mar 26, 2008 12 ounce bottle- poured out a thick tar black. The head was an incredibly thick caramel brown and lasted until the last mouthful. Aroma was very chocolatey and sweet. First impression was that this was one of the smoothest stouts I had ever tried, texture was pure silk in the mouth. Great toffee flavor with a hint of black coffee, but was in no way sweet. Excellent, really enjoyed it. LokiLovelace (10), Piscataway, New Jersey, USA Mar 25, 2008 Great solid beer with rich malt flavor and burnt caramel hints this is a great bang for the buck Imperial Stout!
