Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

The aroma starts off with a good combination of roasted malts and piney hops. It pours an opaque black with a huge tan head. Nice roasted flavor, with hints of chocolate and coffee, ending with a nice bitter finish. Very heavy and thick mouthfeel. A very tasty imperial stout.

Pours almost black with a thick, pancake colored head that lingers. Nose is comlex, with chocolate malt, roasted coffee, and interesting pine hops. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Flavor is a bit spicy, roasted bitter coffee, and semi sweet chocolate. The finish is like an IIPA, with bitter pine hops. Quite a complex brew.

Opened at night in celebration of Easter, while watching Boondock Saints with my dad! 12 oz bottle pours viscous, used motor oil-black, completely impenetrable. Nice one-finger dark brown head that settles into a lasting ring. Nose is heavy bitter chocolate, cacao, roasted, almost burnt espresso notes, and a hint of toffee and whiskey. Taste is more of a balance between the chocolate and coffee tones, with a surprisingly strong hop backbone here. 9.5% alcohol is extremely well-hidden. Finishes clean, with almost no burn. I could drink two of these, its that smooth.

Pours a deep oily black with a small amber brown head. Aroma is sweet malt, coffee, citrus hops, dates, bordeau and just a hint of alcohol. Flavor is medium sweet, coffee, grapefruit and fruity. Nice long finish with a slight warming sensation as it goes down the throat. Big body, small carbonation. This is one very nice beer.

Very dark, almost oily. Taste and aroma balance together and remind me of such things as old fashioned black licorice, old work dark chocolate, but with a definite hop and dark malt taste that makes it all beer. A very strong stout with a flavor that masks its high alcohol content. Note to self, but again to share with a friend.

From Colorado with love. Pours a deep, black thick color that is very viscous. A rich amber-brown head that remains throughout the tasting. There is chocolate quality like you could just pour this all over ice cream. There is good lacing though and through. The smell is strong with a malty backing. Great tones of rich roasted malt and chocolate tones. Very malty with a tad sweet smell. Very limited fruit or plum notes but are there if you really look for them. A little bit of phenols but nothing that would indicate the ABV. The taste is mostly malt. A deep dark chocolate with a bittersweet taste. Very rich in the flavor, very much like a high end deep chocolate bar. Stronger coffee flavors are also present. More of coffee beans then coffee taste. There is a sweetness that brings out a sort of milk stout quality. One thing that you don’t taste is the plums or raison quality. This is mostly rich malt and lactose. The flavor is very smooth with some limited bit and phenol tastes at the end. The body is medium to full. The carbonation is light as per expected but overall a good tasty brew. I think I would have liked to see more complexity and fruity or plum/raison tastes but still an exceptional beer. A definite recommendation.
