ratman197 (2242), Arvada, Colorado, USA Apr 22, 2005 This was a bottle of 2003 Maverick [the origanal name before Yeti] Imperial Stout I had in my cellar. Pours a dark opaque black with a big dark brown head that really hangs in there. Aromas of faint smoke, coffee, and chocolate. It has a smooth rich mouthfeel. Rich roast malt, and coffee flavors dominate with some chocolate and carmel. The bitterness has really dropped out from when it was fresh.

Its quite simple but very well put together jetfande (7), , Alabama, USA does not count Aug 15, 2008 Coffee and chocolate are very well represented here. Quite interesting taste combination, Suprisingly drinkable for the high alcohol content. Licorice type finish is present. marcus (966), Sacramento, California, USA Aug 14, 2008 This black ale poured with a thin tan head and a rich malt aroma. There is a lot of chocolate and roasted malt flavor - this is a huge beer. Slightly carbonated and nicely hopped. gueuze_is_god (106), Graham, North Carolina, USA Aug 13, 2008 12 oz bottle, richly dark pour, produces a creamy camel-tan head. Smells of bitter chocolate, pine forest. Similar to the oak aged in most ways, maybe a bit more aggressive, green flavor. Super delicious, a new favorite, will attempt to homebrew clone this one.
