Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottled. Vlack with a brown/orange head. Malty and soruish nose; vinous with sweet fruits. Salty aroma from tar and peat. A lot of salty licorice-flavour. Full-bodied with loads of burnt malt. Vinous and fruity.

Bottle. Ok, this is truly embarrasing. I made alot of notes about the beer, only to waste them in the laundry later on. So I will give it a try without the notes. Black color, nice big lasting brown head. Great roasted aroma with tar, chocolate, cocoa, licorice and lots of really bitter hops. Flavor is as raosted and bitter, chocolate, licorice, tar and cocoa. Lovely bitterness and a wonderful body. I promise to save my notes next time I try this beer...

Bottled. Sampled at plan b during the RBESG pub crawl. Black, with a tint of red. Roasty nose, with notes of coffee, chocolate and a wonderful accompanying hop tone. Body is extremely rounded. Coffee and dark chocolate notes. Amazingly yummy.

This was a bottle of 2003 Maverick [the origanal name before Yeti] Imperial Stout I had in my cellar. Pours a dark opaque black with a big dark brown head that really hangs in there. Aromas of faint smoke, coffee, and chocolate. It has a smooth rich mouthfeel. Rich roast malt, and coffee flavors dominate with some chocolate and carmel. The bitterness has really dropped out from when it was fresh.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours black with a large brown head. The aroma of hops, coffee, chocolate and roasted malt is fantastic and nearyl perfect. After that great aroma the flavour is a bit of a letdown -- it has the makings of a great taste: lots of hops, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel and more but the hops used are way too harsh and the alcohol is too present. It’s pretty good but doesn’t hold a candle to the Oak Aged Yeti.

22-oz bottle. Pours near opaque with a medium dark brown rocky head and excellent spotty lacing. Chocolate alcohol malt (dark roasted grain) aroma with coffee and caramel notes and some hoppy pine near the end. Hoppy acidic dry alcohol dark roasted caramel malt flavor. Dry and full bodied palate, wonderful mouthfeel. Great brew but the oak aged is better.

Totally black pour with zero head. Nose is chocolate cake, pine, roasted malt and alcohol. There is a reverse cascade to this. Taste is full of rich sticky big hops and even more chocolate. A great beer to get the kids into craft beers. As hoppy an Imperial Stout that’s out there.
