Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Totally black pour with zero head. Nose is chocolate cake, pine, roasted malt and alcohol. There is a reverse cascade to this. Taste is full of rich sticky big hops and even more chocolate. A great beer to get the kids into craft beers. As hoppy an Imperial Stout that’s out there.

When poured, the head was small, light brown with fine-large sized bubbles that completely diminished. The body of this beer was opaque and uncarbonated with a black hue. The nose was that of chocolate and roasted coffee with a chocolate and coffee taste to it. The mouthfeel was smooth and full bodied. This beer had a fair amount of lacing to it.

2003 vintage. Pours black with a brown head. Nose is roasted malt and coffee. Perhaps dark chocolate or cocoa as well. Taste has more of the same with licorice added to it. Some definite coffee notes in the taste along with licorice and alcohol. Some bitterness during the mouthfeel and finish but, man, this is good. Very good Imperial Stout!

Bottle. Black beer with a strong brown head. The aroma is mildly roasted, and the flavour is deeply roasted and bitter. Overall a nice bitter stout.

22 oz bottle - Whip-In Liquors, Austin, Tx. Pours a hot tar on the highway black with a creamy, mocha colored head with sticky, thick lacing. Aroma has a slight alcohol accent to it, but is laced with brandy accents and a little bit of chocolate. Flavor has some hints of roasted coffee, licorice, some bourbon as well. Mouthfeel is velvetty smooth and thick. A most delectable Imp Stout.

Tap at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, burned malt nose with hint of chocolate. Roasted malt, chocolate and coffee with surprisingly bitter hoppy finish. Oily and easy drinkable for 9.5%.

Bottle from BSF, GBBF ’08. Very dark brown with a beige head. Appealing roasted malt aroma. Thick, oily dark chocolate mouthfeel with flavours of dates, plums. liquorice and leather. Intense bitterness at the finish. Luxury beer.

22 oz bottle. Poured thick and black with a brown head that laced the glass. Big malt nose with molasses, caramel, and chocolate notes. Flowery hops round out the aroma. Slick and oily with lots of alcohol flavor and a burnt roastiness (almost tarry) that lingers along with the alcohol and some hop bitterness. Strong molasses. Very bold. Successively sweet and then acidic.
