Held it up to the light, and absolutely nothing came through. Dark as the darkest night. Tan head that leaves behing a nice spiderweb of lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and raw sugar cane. The flavor is the same. Not particularly complex, but incredibly well executed. The body is oily and viscous. There is a very slick mouthfeel. Smooth, sweet stout. drewbeerme (2306), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2007 22oz bottle, seemed pretty fresh. thanks to holdenn for this sample. tried next to oak aged yeti (again supplied by holdenn, he rules!). this poured very dark with small tan head. nose was dark chocolate, toffee, roasty, and grassy hops. flavor is very much of the same lots of dark chocolate and very grassy hops with caramel and toffee. alcohol was well hidden. carbination is medium-high. body is a tad thin. this regular yeti is more aggressive with chocolate and loads of hops when compared to the oak aged version. a lot more chocolately. it may not be as complex as the oak aged version but i’m into the super hopped up imperial stouts these days and this has that going on. very hoppy and dark chocolately indeed! i appreciate both beers but i think i prefer this yeti, a more hoppy and dark chocolately sibling. Appearance: This pours motor oil black with a cocoa brown head.
Aroma: It has a nice chocolately, after dinner drink aroma.
Flavor: It's rich and very silky on the tongue. It's a very nicely done imperial stout. alexanderj (2280), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 2, 2007 Bottle. Poured a dark brown-black, with creamy light brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and some hops. Mouthfeel was not that great to me, but still ok. Initially the flavor was dominated by coffee and a bitterness; eventually gave way to a sweet chocolate and light burnt flavor. Ok for the style for me. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

7/20/2008: Yeti Imperial Stout is nearly black in color with only a very thin tan veil on top. It presents a robust aroma of dark chocolate, heavily roasted malt, and suggestions of vanilla and espresso. Many layers of smooth roasted malts, heavily caramelized sugar, and rich dark chocolate topped of with a respectable level of bitterness. Even the bitterness is a complex blend of pine, unsweetened chocolate, acidic coffee-like notes, and citrus. These hop flavors continue to develop and become more apparent as the beer warms (expecially the citrusy and pine notes). This beer is pretty well-balanced and very, very drinkable considering it’s complexity and alcohol content! I would prefer a touch less hoppiness though... It is full-bodied and very smooth. Yeti has always been an impressive brew and is fairly easy to find and moderately priced. It is definitely worth considering when browsing for a good stout to enjoy regarless of how many times I have had it in the past.
