Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

This was a damn good Imperial Stout. Pitch black appearance with a large tan head. The aroma was smoke and chocolate. The flavor was very complex with some smoke, licorice, chocolate, raisins, and vanilla. This is certainly one of the more bitter Impys Ive tasted. The aftertaste leaves a nice sweet chocolate coat on your tounge. Very good! Thanks LordGorlock!!!

Bottle. when i poured this i got excited. pitch black with a thin orange tan head. i was surprised by the hop aroma, definite pine aroma. flavor is interesting but good. starts with a bold bitter hop flavor the malty roast flavor follows with hints of toffee and roasted flavors. then it finishes with an enjoyable earthy hop taste. this is all done while maintaining a smooth drinkability. this is a really unique beer. kudos for the originality on this.

Pours black with nice tan that slowly dissipates to thick film and picture perfect lacing. Nice roasted malt aroma with hints of coffee. Chocolate, coffee and malts up front and a roasty almost smokey finish

Bottle at Plan B during RBESG 05 pub crawl. Great smell: coffee cream and searing hops. Oily black, with a brown fuzz head. Wonderful strong flavour: deep roast on a crispy hop background. Excellent combination of well sourced flavours, which works brilliantly. Awesome. (Big thanks to Rick Gordon and Hammenlind for seeking me out because they knew I would love this!)

Thanks to gputty for bringing this to our "stoutfest". Black pour with a medium brown head. Malty, sweet nose with caramel and brown sugar nose. Flavor is malty, roasty. Very interesting finish, as the sweetness immediately gives way for an intense bitterness. Slightly creamy, ultra smooth body. WOW!

Bottle at Chris’ - thanks joet. Very dark with a beautiful chocolate head. Lovely strong aroma of chocolate, no apparent alcohol, beefy. Strong flavoured with sweet malt, chocolate and coffee and a really strange addition of piney, citric, resiny American hops.

I purchased this last autumn and it seems to have held up nicely. Pours viscous and nearly black with garnet highlights and a chocolatey-brown head that was slow to form and lasting, leaving sticky crusts of lace along the way. Deep, dark aromas are syrupy chocolate above lactose and alcohol (which can at times be harsh) with notes of flavored coffee interspersed. A syrupy mouth and swallow prolongs an alcohol burn on the way down, but the flavor is well worth it... with full-on candy bar replicate chocolate and caramel followed by hops which come off fruity, but more pruney than citric. Lingers bittersweet as the alcohol continues to warm. This is a great, big, bear of a beer better suited to the cold months of winter, but I turned the A/C way up today so I’m doing just fine.

Body seems to be thick on the pour, opaque with a deep mocha head. Aroma is chocolate malt, coffee, alcohol, caramel. Taste is toffee, espresso, and bittersweet chocolate. Alcohol coverage is very average. It is pretty damn hoppy that really holds back some of the sweetness that you’d usually catch.
