Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Pours like motor oil. Brown creamy thick head. The head is so perfect it leaves a little foam ring on the glass with every delicious sip. Mix of Coffee, Chocolate, Cherri and some other things I couldn’t recognize. Silky smooth mouth feel. A delicious imperial. I am very happy with Great Divide. Thanks to Kawa.

Bottle at Microbar, Clapham, 14th Jan 08. Pours ink black with little head. Knockout aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, blackcurrant, plums and berries. Similar flavour - endless rich dark fruit flavours and then a long bitter finish. Palate is smooth as silk. Awesome beer!

12 oz bottle from Oak Tree. Pours a great looking solid black body sitttin nuderneath two finers of tightly formed deep beige/lt brown head that totally disappears but leaves some interesting lace on the rear of my New Belgium Fat Tire glass. Aroma has lots of hops, citrus, lemon zest, grapefruit, bakers chocolate, roastiness, pineapple and slight tobacco and tar. Flavor has way more roastiness then the aroma lets on with lots of tar, tobacco, dark chocolate, citrus notes, pineapple, burnt toast with fermenting orange marmelade jam. Full bodied with stronger carbonation, slightly chalky finish with a strong bitterness from the hops that are still shining through like this was an IPA. Good stuff but the malty aroma and flavor of an Impy Stout are being overshadowed by all the hops, still good stuff.

After having a whole bunch if different impy stouts recently, this one may be the best of the lot. Thanks to Eyedrinkale for supplying the bottle. Deep dark brown, tan head. Roasty chocolate alcohol aroma that makes you know this is a great brew. Big extremely smooth flavor. Sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee. Roasty bitterness lingers. This is fantastic!

Thick used 5,000 mile motor oil pour, settles opaque onyx, medium tall, darkest of broken chocolate brown cap of firm foam with some bigger bubbles lingering for a bit. A solid skim remains present nearly the whole glass down and the lacing mega sticks in thin sheets and whispy strings. Aroma is mellow and tangy with dark malts, charred woodened roasty notions, mild chocolate mostly, some molasses, anise, licorice, and vanilla. Deceivingly complex but mild and docile compared to Expedition or Thumbsucker, still quite full and inviting, especially as it warms. Flavors are nice, lots of dark roasty malts, smokey and charred, chocolate and molasses make up a large part of this big taster. Smooth and calm with strong flavors of roast and slight tang of dark fruity plums and prunes. Exquisite finish of hop spice and slight coffee roast with a mix of burnt chocolate hovering across the drying finish, Very nice. Feel is nearly full with a low set carbonation, as it should be for a Imp. Stout, solid roasty, burntish edge and chocolatey sweet dry finish. Oh so fine with a solid, mega firm roastyness throughout the whole palate that lingers so well. A very nice Imperial Stout, a pleasant surprise, never a hint of alcohol any where, which is a good quality to have. Heavenly nice! I’m alooped with glee and becoming warm with love of great beer as I continue to sip this delightful brew.

Perhaps the most inviting beer I have ever seen. Just beautiful with its very dark color and incredibly thick, rich, and dark head. Aroma is almost as inviting and is full of malt. First taste brings roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and hops for tartness. Just wonderful! Mouth feel is smooth as a prom queen’s thighs. Yeti is an amazing balance of boldness and subtleness. This beer is so good it could be called inspiring. Drinking it is close to a religious experience.

on cask @ redlight redlight. Rich dark aromas, burnt coffee, bakers chocolate, the aroma has a strong presence. Pours black, with a milk chocolate, tan head, thats about 1 1/2 inches, but settles down to a dense 1/2 inch. I can’t wait to delve into this beer. Smooth and rich with a hoppy and alcohol bite. Very soft chocolate and vanilla up front, roasty, hints of coffee, then it gets more intense burnt caramel followed by a huge bite of hops and alcohol. Very lovely imp. stout.
