Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Very dark black colour with an oily mouthfeel, fine brown head which quickly dissapears but leaves a nice lacing. Deep aroma of black chocolate, coffee, prune and alcohol, roasted, sweet, very full-bodied, the finish is long and bitter with a warming alcohol touch and notes of hazelnut and grapefruit - highly complex.

BAM is what you think when you taste this amazing beer. Its like a party in the mouth with the hint flavors of chocolate and coffee. When I poured it I couldnt help but admire this beer with it beautiful head, and black tar look. The smell is out of this world that tingles the nostrels. Im trying the Oak Aged from good ole Tiki Taylor tomorrow, but for now this is my favorite stout!!!

If this was a tad cheaper, my weight would certainly climb. Black, thick and big. Tan head invites you in to a nose of roasted dark chocolate and carmel. Very expasive stout that leaves itself open for interpretation, such as definate roasted malt and toffee with some mild molasses. Some say coffee, however being a coffee-beer lover, I didn’t get it. It’s a little more hoppy than you would think a imperial stout to be. One of my all-time favorites. Thank you, Great Divide.

Dark black......opaque. Thick, creamy head. Malty aroma, with a hint of sweetness. Strong roasted malt flavors up front......pretty smooth mouthfeel, with only a faint crispness. Complex hop notes mixed with a bold malt flavor in the back......long, somewhat dry finish.

Bottle. Deep black and thick with a beige head. Balck currants in abundance on the nose. Chocolate. Coffee. The flavour is very sweet. Some tangy black currants. Chocolate, roasted coffee beans and dried fruits as well. The finish is burnt malts and a piney bitterness. Fantastic!

Coffee, chocolate and hops scent and taste, I’ve been here before. But what makes this stand out is the hugeness of it all. Damn tasty stuff.

Sampled at the GD tasting at Blacklick Wine and Spirits on 3.26.09. Anxious to try this one because I haven’t had it since around 2005 and my tastes have changed since then. Bottled in January 2008. Black pour with a medium light brown head that is very sticky. Chocolatey aroma with some alcohol and plum. Chocolate malt aroma with dark fruit and a creamy, yet bitter coffee finish. Truly outstanding.

Well, my first beer officially rated on Ratebeer, thanks to my friend haslinger. I was a bit afraid throwing down just top numbers on my first beer, but this beer just exceeds all expectations. A very smooth, but heavy flavor loaded with hops and chocolate. Absolutely one of the best beers I’ve ever had. (oh and light cannot pass through it)
