Your the man when it comes to fine brews. cathcacr (592), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Pretty standard for a top-notch Impy. Heavy roasted-cocoa aroma, densely flavored. Not much head to speak of, actually. Finishes just fine with the usual Impy alcohol sting somewhere back there.

Black, with a tint of red. Roasty nose, with notes of coffee, chocolate and a wonderful accompanying hop tone. Body is extremely rounded. Coffee and dark chocolate notes. Amazingly yummy. fishonmyplane (127), Newington, Connecticut, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 17, 2009 For me this is a near-perfect imperial stout. 9.5% ABV and full of roasted, burnt, malty flavor. But it’s all well-balanced with a healthy dose of hops, resulting in 75 IBU’s. Truly an incredible beer. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 24, 2004 After having a whole bunch if different impy stouts recently, this one may be the best of the lot. Thanks to Eyedrinkale for supplying the bottle. Deep dark brown, tan head. Roasty chocolate alcohol aroma that makes you know this is a great brew. Big extremely smooth flavor. Sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee. Roasty bitterness lingers. This is fantastic! Kinz (2221), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 28, 2004 Along the lines of Stone Impy, which is never a bad thing. Black, nice, long lasting dark tan head, amazing lacing. Aroma is of pine with slight chocolate notes, very nice and up front. Full onslaught in the mouth, roasty, notes of chocolate, with a piney hop finish. That pepsin flavor that I love. This is my kind of Imperial Stout! Great balance between malt and hop. I quiver at the thought of an oak aged version. Perhaps not quite as complex as others, but still a mighty fine brew. rlgk (3378), Vårgårda, Sweden
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 15, 2007 Bottle. Ok, this is truly embarrasing. I made alot of notes about the beer, only to waste them in the laundry later on. So I will give it a try without the notes.
Black color, nice big lasting brown head. Great roasted aroma with tar, chocolate, cocoa, licorice and lots of really bitter hops. Flavor is as raosted and bitter, chocolate, licorice, tar and cocoa. Lovely bitterness and a wonderful body. I promise to save my notes next time I try this beer... jzzbassman (853), New Albany, Mississippi, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Mar 18, 2005 Had this before and loved it, but wanted to do a vertical with an Oak aged. Still phenomenal, with a great malt backbone and tons of hops. Lots of coffee, and while not as rounded as the Oak Aged, still world class.
