Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Wow! A coffee roast shake! Fruit complements. Nice herbal hop injection -- piney hop bitterness takes over where the bitter roast leaves off. Rich carmels. A bit sticky but not to any detriment. Excellent!

Uh, wooooo. Deep viscous black with a beautiful blood red head. Rich nose, chocolate and loads of malts, lots of molasses and plums. Very good flavor, strong and very vinous. Huge roasted malts, lots of chocolate, a pleasing hint of bitterness at the end. Full and creamy, yet very quaffable. Quite spectacular.

very black color if there is such a thing black is black right. There was a nice small head that was a creamy dark brown that lasted a very long time.malty hoppy aroma with a mild hint of chocolate and coffee maybe mildly sweet with a mild sour side, and light caramel. The flavor is very malty with a very, very, nice hop presence and chocolate or cocoa mildly sweet at first then a nice dark chocolate flavor comes through, maybe a light coffe taste as well. The after taste is malty, hops and mildly bitter, this is a fantastic brew, damn what a great trade this worked out to be.Thanks go out to Raindog for this brew, sorry the brews never made it to the weekend but hey it was well worth the enoremous buzz i have right now. Your the man when it comes to fine brews.

Black color; the head reduces quickly, but leaving a nice lace. The aroma is a wonderful mix of hops and roasted malt, dark chocolate. Dense flavor, fat roasted malt (and caramel, malt) flavor, some cardboard, maybe glue, alcohol feeling; in the end offering notes of cookies, coffee, strong liquorice; powerful body. Prepotent bitterness, in a long final, with a lot of roasted malt. Huge.

Blackest color; dark brown thick head. Strong aroma: malt, roasted malt, light liquorice. Good structure, not too thick, not too oily; extreme roasted malt character, with coffee, liquorice; very strong hopping with hidden aromas.
Chewy coffee; extremely balanced. Give me more!

I sampled the Great Divide Yeti before noon and after finishing a chicory coffee. The coffee and Yeti complimented each other. Impressive look to this imperial stout. Gingerbread colored head and a dark brown sugar color to the body. Further greeted by a roasted aroma. This is one complex imperial stout. Piney green hops blended with caramel, toffee, and malt. Superior beer.

Pretty standard for a top-notch Impy. Heavy roasted-cocoa aroma, densely flavored. Not much head to speak of, actually. Finishes just fine with the usual Impy alcohol sting somewhere back there.

Bottled. Sampled at plan b during the RBESG pub crawl. Black, with a tint of red. Roasty nose, with notes of coffee, chocolate and a wonderful accompanying hop tone. Body is extremely rounded. Coffee and dark chocolate notes. Amazingly yummy.

For me this is a near-perfect imperial stout. 9.5% ABV and full of roasted, burnt, malty flavor. But it’s all well-balanced with a healthy dose of hops, resulting in 75 IBU’s. Truly an incredible beer.
