Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

This was a damn good Imperial Stout. Pitch black appearance with a large tan head. The aroma was smoke and chocolate. The flavor was very complex with some smoke, licorice, chocolate, raisins, and vanilla. This is certainly one of the more bitter Impys Ive tasted. The aftertaste leaves a nice sweet chocolate coat on your tounge. Very good! Thanks LordGorlock!!!

Thanks Eyedrinkale. Deep dark brown in color with a nice fluffy tan head. Roasty chocolate aroma. Malty. Full bodied. . Smooth flavors. The roasty flavor lingers throughout the whole beer. Sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee like flavors and aroma. Enjoyable.

As black as can be, brownish head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Plenty of hops to counteract all the roasted and malt flavors, with plenty of bite in the aftertaste. A really nice brew.

Side by side done with the oak aged Yeti

Black with a dark, oily tan head. Lots of spotty lacing. Big malt bill. Complex. Roasty, bitter, and very vinous. Port and tobacco. Grapes and figs. Brown sugar and alcohol. Bitterness comes thorugh first in the flavors. Then a sharp and acrid bite of fruits. Chocolate coffee come out next. The roast blends in well. Alcohol is almost hidden, but shows itself towards the tail. Thick but not cloying. Bitter and sharp finish of dark malts.

Black like a coalmine with a big, dense brown head. Wonderful aroma of black coffee, luxury chocolate, pepper and hops with touches of citric fruit. Big chocolately flavour with notes of espresso, roasted malts, toffee, tar and citric hops. Long bitter aftertaste of cocoa, dark chocolate, pepper and hops. A graet beer.

Bottle pours 5w30!   Head is definately dark brown.   This is one thick mutha!   Lacing is very nice.   Aroma is wonderful, roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, and light hops.   The taste is exceptional.   Mouthfeel is smooth and velvety.   Rich and roasty, WOW this is good!   Sweet with a dry finish.   Alcohol is very well masked.   I wish I had a case of this.   Did I mention WOW!   Thanks goes out to ClarkVV for the trade!

Edit: The new batch of Yeti seems to bit less chocolately but quite a bit more hoppy.

Truly dark colour with a very, very good looking beige almost brown head, that lasted very well. Looked spectacular in my regular tasting glass (bowl type glass). Aroma with notes of coffee, licorice, and something I can’t quite place but think is coriander. Very full, dark flavour with everything from the aroma in rich amounts as well as an interesting complexity of other flavours (I suspect it’s one of those beers in wich everybodycan find different flavours). Lasting bitter, hoppy aftertaste, that I liked, but realise might scare some people off (it’s rather agressive after all). One of the best stouts I’ve had.
