Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

22oz. bottle last night. WOW! Firstly, I can’t believe I found this beer in my hometown, and, furthermore, that it was at a party super-store and was covered in dust. So I came home, dusted it off and cracked it open. Intoxicating, sticky rich aroma of chocolate, molasses, hints of hops, malty sweetness, coffee beans and flowers. Rich, pitch black appearance with a creamy and thick (3-finger) dark brown head that settles slowly and provides for great lacing. The flavor was very complex and embodied all of the great aromas and more, including a hint of black licorice. The 9.5 abv. is hidden very well, yet the slight and comforting edge of alcohol presence remains. The brew warms the stomach nicely. It exhibited a sticky and heavy, yet very smooth, palate that yields well to those rich and creamy aromas and flavors listed above. I bout this beer for 4.50 and would easily pay 10 for the next. Great deal and in no way a let down. I hope I can find this beer again! [RE-RATE] This bad boy was my number one. Lets see how I perceive it now. The aroma is not quite what I remember. Good but a hint of soy. The beer itself is still a pretty big bodied, well balanced Imperial stout. Very drinkable, a bit lighter body than I remember. A bit more hops on the flavor than I remember. Looks like I have a new number one. Good luck NogneO Imperial Stout and PumKing... you too will be rerated some day!

Delicious beer. Smells of roasted malt with a hint of chocolate. Nice dark cola like coloring with a rich dark tan head. Great flavor. Filled with a dark chocolate taste and delicious roasted malt. A touch of a bitter kickback. Warm going down. Heavy impact. Nice brew!

Bottled 10aug09 from Crown#6. I’ve had most of the others, thought I should try the original. Pours pitch black with dark tan evenly bubbled head. Nose is rich dark chocolate with roasted malt, appealing coffee and apparent abv. Taste is smooth delicious chocolate, molasses, and creamy coffee flavor with a tad bit too much alcohol for my liking, I’m sure due to the fact it was bottled 4 months ago. None the less, this is a true winner that is clearly ageable, and a prime candidate for 1-offs. Top notch IS!!!

Good aroma, sweeter than I expected, almost a toasted coffee and caramel with a whiff of the alcohol. Pours super dark, like used motor oil. Impossible to see through. The head is minimal, with a brownish foam. It tastes like an IPA version of Celebrator. The hoppy notes are very apparent at the end as this is certainly full bodied. Based on the pour, I was expecting it to feel much heavier than it was. The aftertaste lingers long after you finish swallowing. Overall, quality beer, although I’m not a huge hop fan. I’d like to try the oak-aged version as a comparison

Bottle from Utobeer market stall. Pours black with a light tan head which leaves some nice lacing once it dissipates. Aromas of chocolate, almonds, smoke, winter berries. Extremely tasty flavours of chocolate, coffee, caramel. Culminates in a big, bold dry hoppy finish. Very nice.

Pours a dark luscious black with brown bubbly sexy head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and hops. Taste of toffee, sweet malts, fresh hops, chocolate, and caramel. Very well balanced. This stuff was so good. I want some more!

Noire et opaque. Très complexe et difficile a décrire. Flaveurs de malt foncée, de café, de chocolat, d’houblon frais, de fumé. Riche et délicieux. Une de mes favorites.

12 oz bottle from Princeton’s. Pitch black pour with a thick brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Aggressive flavor, chocolate notes and the alcohol is definitely present. Thick creamy mouthfeel, smooth lingering finish. Sweetens as it warms. Excellent stout.
