Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

1pint 6oz, $6.89. Aroma is wonderful. Notes of of molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, raisin, plum, port, and smoke. Average sized frothy light-brown head that mostly lasted and left great lace. Dark black hue. moderately sweet and lightly sour. Finish is average. Palate is full bodied and oily flat. A little alcohol on the finish but overall a fantastic brew.

Simply an amazing brew. A huge chocolate head that last forever. A taste of coffee and great bitter hops. A style I love and this is one of my favs. As the beer warmed the flavor kept evolving...Almost as good as Ale smiths Speedway-almost.

I truly love this beer! Being from Colorado I am extremely proud of Great Divide for offering such an amazing beer (well, all of their beers are pretty amazing if you ask me) Anyways, this beer is motor-oil thick. Laces up nicely, pours extremely dark. Very nice malty flavors with chocolate and dark fruits such as figs and raisons. Enough bitter in here to keep the malts in check, but nothing in this beer seems overwhelming. I am always amazed when I have this beer, and i’ve had it hundreds of times (lucky Old Chicago right near my house sells the oak aged version of this on tap! YUM!)

07-22-07. Globe glass at 64 F. Pours B-L-A-C-K. The darkest beer I’ve seen, possibly. A 2 finger caramel head. Almost intimidating. Roast, dark chocolate, espresso, milk, malt, caramel, cream, and black coffee to the nose. The initial taste is roast, pine hops, black coffee, espresso, a tinge of alcohol, caramel, malted milk balls, and a bit of dark chocolate. Aftertaste is a bitter roasted coffee, pine hops, and malted milk balls. Palate is orgasmic. Creamy and full with light carbonation. Absolutely wonderful beer. The most balanced beer I have tasted to this point. Hops definitely add to the flavor; not distract. Could maybe do with just a smidge more caramel flavor...but that’s being extra picky.

22oz bottle. Pour black in color with brown head. Aroma is sweet, alcohol, chocolate and roasted coffee. Taste dark chocolate and roasted coffee with bitter finish.

bottle at home. I drink alone. Which would be depressing except when you drink a beer this good. Pours black and syrupy with a beautiful dark brown head. It’s got legs on the glass and a nice lacing. A little more carbonation than some Impy’s and I like that. Smells of dried fruits, perhaps liqourice. Tastes of chocolate, roasted malts. bitter hop finish that is not overdone. This is one of the best. A must try!

This is another great IMP stout. While I haven’t tried its big brother yet I’m sure it is just as great. This beer is dark, thick and is a beer to enjoy. It tastes of coffee, dark chocolate and slightly bitter. The hops are definitely underplayed which can be nice. Highly recommend this beer and will always try to keep it on hand.

Just incredible. Really tempting aroma with a pitch black color. The flavor is very full with a chocolaty, caramely flavor that gives way to a toffee aftertaste. Absolutely delicious
