Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Black, black, black with a thick brown head. The nose is wonderful with blossoming chocolate bursts, the right amount of hop presence coming through, and of course a welcome roastiness. The body is full, smooth, and thick. Hints of licorice sit on the front of the tongue. Hops invade the entire drink, but are surrounded and complimented by minty notes, chocolate undertones, and roast. A wonderful imperial stout. I tasted this side by side with the Oak aged Yeti. I enjoyed this much better. Great work!

Opaque, lasting dark brown head. Very complex nose of roasted malts, chocolate, liquorice, and even some lactic and fruity notes. Malty and bitter flavour, again lots of complexity. Thick mouthfeel and lasting bitter finish. Just a tad to bitter in finish for me, but apart from that really nice. I think i like this one just as much as the oaked aged version, but i’ll have to try that one again to be sure. Great brew from a great brewery.

Sweet molasses nose with a hint of toast and wood. Black onyc color and a lovely light brown head. Chocolate, coffee, nuts and roasted flavors with a licorice end. Low bitter, but a dry woody end. Massive imperial stout that I’d love to try again.

Black, Black. This beer is a joy ride. Coffee flavour. Roasted and slightly smoked. Finsih is mederately hoppy and soft. Great imperial stout. I’d love to try a matured version.

Jet black. Aroma starts full of coffee, but quickly shifts to surging hops. Exotic fruity hop aromas-mangoes and peaches. Touch of earthy mushroom. Loads of coffee, some ground coffee bean flavor, touch of milk chocolate. Sweetish malt has quite a bit of texture. Finish is long and deep. Excellent.

Bottle. This stout is huge. Pours a midnight black with a chocolate brown head. The flavor is chocolatey, espresso with a caramel sweetness. It finishes with a hoppy, sweet, alcohol note. Its a great stout.

Lutulent, near black opaque liquid. One of the darkest head in memory. Amomas of sweet roasted malt, sweet german chocolate, sorghum, and syrup with overtones of hops. Definately thick and chewy. Initial charcoal and malt flavors surrender to rich heavy chocolate. Just thinking about it make me want to pour this over some ice cream. Finish is more acidic and piney. Anouther difficult rate tonight! I really enjoy the thickness and malt and chocolate flavors, but the near stinging acidity near the end brings it down. I will certainly set a few of these down.

Pours a deep brown/black hue with a light brown/tan head with nice cascading lacing. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, a little nutty with a light sourness almost floralness on the nose. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice, smooth, bitter finish. Flavors of the normal coffee, chocolate, but the hops are there that give it a little nudge on the back of the tongue. Very easy to drink and not as over-cloying as many of the other impy’s out there. A very drinkable stout similar to rasputin, just not as roasty.
