Commercial Description:
Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish. 75 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Dark black pour with a thick very dark brown head. Scent has coffee, vanilla and chocolate notes shining through. All the above plus some caramel present themselves in the flavor, along with a noticeable alchohol bite. Smoky and dry roasted finish make this one outstanding. I think this might be better than the oak aged version.

LIke the barleywine, this is also one massive beast. Excellent hoppy aroma. Coal black with tan head. First taste is the grainy bitter hops. The graininess continues into a slightly too alcoholic finish. A very thick stout that coats the mouth. It must be enjoyed very slowly but it can certainly be enjoyed.

22 oz bomber. Pours a pitch black color with a very thick creamy beige head. Aroma is unusually hoppy for an imperial stout. Slight coffee scent and malts also detected in scent. Flavor is very hoppy with hints of coffee and sweet chocolate. Different, but great.

On tap at BJ’s, Pearl Street, Boulder. Absolutely delicious and incredible. One of the best in my book, really. Intense, right off the bat it says how good it is to your tounge. Quality. Deepness, "drinkability", and ability to stay on the bar and be quality quaff without you wanting to rush it. Excellently done.

Bottle. when i poured this i got excited. pitch black with a thin orange tan head. i was surprised by the hop aroma, definite pine aroma. flavor is interesting but good. starts with a bold bitter hop flavor the malty roast flavor follows with hints of toffee and roasted flavors. then it finishes with an enjoyable earthy hop taste. this is all done while maintaining a smooth drinkability. this is a really unique beer. kudos for the originality on this.

Black and thick as used motor oil, I love this stuff already. Fluffy, whipped chocolate mousse head...must have stayed around for 10 minutes at least. Lace is sticky, probably gonna need a scrubber to get it out of the glass. Aroma is not as massive as it’s appearance would lead you to believe that it should be, roasted malt, woody, some chocolate and coffee backer but only slightly so. The flavor is amazing. Strong roasty malt right up front, burnt wood, coffee, semi-sweet chocolate and caramel with a welcomed bitterness to finish. Body is big, deep, thick and oily, and definitely silky smooth. This is a must have.

Bottle. Found this beauty of a beer in Philly. Pours black as tar with a thick brown head. Great head retention for an Imperial Stout. Smell has burnt chocolate, coffee, caramel and courant. There is a bit of citrus and graitfruit mixed into the taste. IPA characteristics are present in this beer. Palate is very pleasing. I was expecting this to be overly bitter. All I can say is it is excellent.
