Commercial Description:
Great Lakes Brewing Company (GLBC) will celebrate its 15th anniversary on September 6, 2003. In recognition of this anniversary, GLBC will release a specialty brew called Anniversary Ale that will be available throughout September in a new 4-pack package at local grocers and on tap at taverns, including GLBC's brewpub. Anniversary Ale is a Belgian Trippel ale that is pale golden in color with mild fruity and spicy characteristics and a slightly sweet flavor that lends itself to a strong, crisp finish. The specialty craft brew is the strongest beer to be bottled and packaged by GLBC with an alcohol by volume of 9.5%.

slight haze, tiny, transluscent fuzzies throughout the golden body with no head. Pale malts, sweet dry crackery nose with noticeable alcoholo and fain phenols. notes of candi sugar. floral and sweet, astringent exit, great warming in chest.

Pours a two-fingered white head that goes slowly and leaves a good lace. Cloudy light amber color. Medium carbonation. Malty/hoppy nose. Medium-heavy bodied. Starts malty with hints of yeast but there are hops in the background, finishes smooth with some alcohol overtones. $2.29 for a 12oz bottle from Liquor Barn Lexington, KY.

a golden color with a light head. Has a sweet fruity aroma. The first sip tasted sweet like honey, with a peppery spice in the mix. It is a smooth Tripel with only a faint hint of hops. There is a small bitter aftertaste on the back of the tongue. It was a good Abbey Tripel. Great Lakes usually does a nice job with their brews and this is no exception. *ammendment.. an hour later.. um, did I mention that this beer will get you drunk off your ass? Because it WILL..good thing it's only a 4-pack .. :-)

Hazy golden color. Spicy aroma, malty, fruit. Very sweet (probably a bit too much), lots of apple, full body. Alcohol and sweet finish.

Pale gold in color, with aromas of malt, yeast, spice and orange. Taste is orange, honey, sweet malt and some spice. Body/palate is medium to heavy. A very nice combination of tastes.

I like this brewery. The description of this one hooked me in right away. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy medium golden color with just a hint of a white head. The aroma is sweet citrus, malt and spice. The flavor is sweet, malty, spicy, sugary and has a hint of orange. There is a thick palate. The spice and a honey like element come out more as the beer warms.

Poured with suspended bubbles amidst a golden body. Aroma of a farmhouse ale. The flavor is bold and spicy -with HUGE malt and pepper. This beer is unique in its density of appearance and taste. This appears to me an attempt at a Westmalle clone that was twisted and overdone - yet still very tasty. Complex for sure. Alcohol burn is evident.
