Aroma is oaky, charred burbon, and vanilla oak. Legs are very short, but keeps a white head with an opaque brown color. Tastes is sweet bourbon and fruity , lots of caramel and some hops too. Palate is smooth with oak and hop harshness coming through at the very end. Very nice, but a touch of diacytl.

(Rating 300 - bomber) Very slight aroma of bourbon, vanilla, and chocolate. Pours a dark black with just a dusting of tan head on top. Flavor profile is hints of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and oak. Very nicely balanced. Alcohol is just barely noticeable. Nice thick mouthfeel, with a finish of chocolate and coffee. A bit pricey, but a very tasty beer. I’ve got one more bomber of this that I’ll hold onto a while.

Another big thanks to crizay for bringing this bomber to the tasting. I didn’t think I’d ever have a chance to try it. Pours deep amber-garnet with thin tan head. The aroma has pretty big oak and booze mixed with mild roasty malts in the background that are a shadow of their rich-creamy-velvety smelling former self (non BA). The palate is attacked initially by dry booziness but is then quickly beat down by roasty, chocolate, coffee and burnt malts. Toward the finish the booze, wood and rich maltiness proceed with nearly equal balance into the after taste. YUM.

Bottle sampled @ OTTD 3. Poured black with a chestnut head appearing at the edges of the glass. A lot of oak on the nose, just a little roast, a little bit of almond. Initially the taste was very alcoholic, but out time the strong alcohol yields to an even mixx of oak, roast, and alcohol, with the expected heat on the finish. Very nice.

Rating # 400! I wish I had some more of this to age! Extra special thanks to the one and only Dankman for this gem of stout! Pours black(out) with thick tan head cascading inside the glass, very beautiful stuff! Bourbon/oak on the nose, with flavor following suite just add some vanilla and a big malt finish!
