Coffee and caramel malt nose with a little alcohol and hops. Starts out a nice bittersweet with a long aftertaste. Thinner than what I expected though and the alcohol is noticeable as well. A very good beer but could be made better if they try. mcmd (139), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Aroma of licorice, dark fruit/prunes, black coffee. Sweet dark fruits up front, then dark chocolate and espresso in the finish blending with the bitterness of the hops. Creamy texture, thinner than most imperial stouts, bitterness lasts forever. vanrassel (30), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 29, 2008 The opaque black appearance and thin (though resilient) head didn’t do much to distinguish this beer off the bat. Aroma of molasses, dried fruit, roasted malt, alcohol and a touch of smoke hinted at better things, Dried fruit and some coffee up front, but more sweet than bitter. Finished dry and roasty. piscator34 (1129), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 29, 2008 Bottled sample via (and consumed with) oakbluff. Jet black in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas of black roasty malts, dark chocolate, mild coffee, and a touch of fruit. Flavors are of powdered milk chocolate, light molasses, vanilla, and a bit of caramel. On the palate, things start out medium sweet, but the roasted malts dry things out quite nicely. A bit of a lightweight in the Imperial Stout category, but still pretty good. oakbluff (300), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Aroma of malts and small amount of hops. Taste is malty. No flavors really stand out... But it does leave a bitter after taste in the mouth. Touch of chocolate, roasted malt. Medium texture. Nothing special but still a decent beer. Thanks josh darn1207 (566), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
