The Aroma was a bit muted, but picked up some citrus and some caramel.
Looked brown with red highlights. Tan head, poor head retention. Little lace.
Was pretty tasty. Good balance between malts and hops. Good malty depth to it, while not becoming a malt dominated beer. Good subtle biterness, and hop flavours.
Average carbonation. Medium bodied.
A nice beer, worth a try. beerbill (1977), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 29, 2009 473 ml can courtesy of a trade with Boutip. Pours a slightly hazed reddish brown, more red than brown, with a moderate linen white head that lasted until mid-glass and left partial lace. Light aroma of malt and not much else. The flavor is malt followed by some moderate, flavorless bitterness. Dries out a bit at the finish as well. I would think the devil would prefer something more interesting than this. j12601 (1357), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

I at first have to snicker at the label indication of “Strong Beer” on a 6% brew, since that’s often the ABV of some sessionable stuff. Pours a clear crimson red with a medium sized tanned beige head. Somewhat old and slightly cheesy hop aromas, a bit of citrus, and a touch of caramel. Somewhat off flavors, weird malt, big metal. Finishes acrid, metallic, and bitter. Drain pour. ChrisThomson (406), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Can from LCBO. Not a bad IPA. Pours clear deep amber with a small amount of frothy tan head. Nose is malty with mild hops. Taste is overall quite malty , caramel, with mild resinous hop bitterness in the finish. OntBeerDrinker (22), Ontario, Canada

I dunno)and reviewed it this past Halloween. If you wanna see myyoutube for it ask me for the link in a msg.Privite msg I guess. I am not sure what I was tasteing here, but I thought I recalled likeing it more then I did this time. I don’t know dark beer’s well as the only other(I think dark beer)I recall ever having was Mill street’s coffee porter long ago. This drink is worth having every october like on Devil’s Night and or Halloween. But to put some aside for another time during the yr...Mabye not. It’s not horrible but I am not loveing it. No pun with Mcdonald’s saying.(If that make’s sence) OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2009 473 ml can sampled 6/4/08. Very dark brown amber colour with a fully lasting frothy and creamy beige head. I’ve had brown ales that weren’t even close to this dark. Caramel, bready, fruity, nutty, and lightly earthy aroma. Bready, earthy, and light brown sugar malts with an earthy, fruity, and nutty bitter finish plus a light acidity. Medium bodied, firm mouthfeel. Enjoyable brown ale – nothing really Pale Ale about it. Strangebrewer (227), Chatham, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 27, 2009 can. Poured clear auburn with a medium tan head. Nice citrus hoppy aroma. Smooth full mouthfeel. Tonnes of flavour, caramel, raisens, and smoke. And finishes just bitter enough with a light dry palate. McGarnigle (318), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2009 473 ml black can bought t LCBO store on Yonge Street. Quite dark for a pale ale; sort of a caramel color. Nice body, light fizz. Seems British to me (not an APA). Malt forward, but with a decent hop presence as well. The hops aren’t US citrus/pine. Long aftertaste; not really clean. Nice job by the other Great Lakes.
