Cask at ’Volo Cask Days 2009’. Pours a deep mahogany with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is lightly roasty along with light hops. Flavour’s the same, lightly roasty with light hops -- tasty. Average to medium bodied. Quite good for a Mild.

Cask. At Volo Cask Days 2009. Clear deep ruby with a large beige head. Dry herbal/hoppy aroma, slightly acidic, weak roastiness. The taste is solid - not at all sour, moderate roast coffee bean & burnt toast with a very hop-forward bitterness. Slightly light mouthfeel, medium-dry bitter finish, quite a long dry linger. Solid, perhaps a tad too bitter.

On cask @ Volo cask days: Appearance: pretty dark, almost black with a small lasting off white head. Aroma: Malt, toast, hops and some vanilla, nice. Flavour: Quite spicy, dry, lots of malt and a nice toasty finish.. hard to believe this is a mild. Very tasty.

[2560-20091031] Cask. Earthy dirt aroma boasts just a hint of poo leaf and some roastiness. Hazy, dark brown body with a quick off-white bubbly head. Earthy dirt and fruit roast malt flavour. Medium body. Drinkable, average.

Cask at Volo Cask Days ’09. Pours a dark brown with maybe a hint of amber. Caramel malt and light hops in nose. Taste is similar with hint of roastiness. Slight bitter finish. Nice and drinkable.

Volo Cask Days 2009. Great sweet malty aroma, with some brwn sugar, and caramel. Flavor is more of the same. Super solid, and super flavorful. Perfect example of the style.

Cask Days 2009 @ volo. dark brown with cask bubbles. nice malt forward aroma. good malt body with noticeable hops. a little to hoppy for a mild IMO but this still drank very well. as much flavour as many of the other offerings and this was only 3.8%. i could drink lots of this one.

2009-10-31. Very dark brown body, near headless. 3+ Mild aroma, sharp note at first is not entirely appreciated. Mild malt, toasty notes. Flavour is similar, dry malt, light toast, light bitterness throughout has an odd undercurrent to it. Average palate. Okay. Others quite liked this one but it did not quite come together for me. Cask at Volo Cask Days 2009
