Bottle thanks to matt7215. Pours a hazy red with a small white head. The aroma is mostly a caramel malt. The taste is dominated by a somewhat spicy caramel flavored malt. Initially it is a quite fizzy and a spicy malt that is followed by a soft sludge of sweet and not pleasant finish. Not bad, but needs something, especially in the finish.

Pours a deep amber red with no head. Very light sweet malty aroma. Flavour is incredibly docile, mostly just really light malty sweetness, caramel, and carbonation. Pretty boring.

341ml brown bottle. Medium brown shade, thin tan head which vanishes instantly. Very light but sweet malt and caramel aroma. Flavour has a dash of malt, some brown sugar, caramel. Ends dry with some graininess. Drinkable, yet unexciting.

341ml bottle from HogtownHarry; Nose was a nice caramelly malt with a slight vanilla note in the background; Clear rusty brown with a medium beige head; flavor is a little watery but pleasant with light caramel, sweetness, and a little pepperiness. Not that bad for a lager!

I tried this beer on February 14, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto. The beer poured a beautiful translucent dark red colour with a very thin white head. The aroma was very weak with a slight malt smell. The mouthfeel was light, dry, with low carbonation. The flavour was slightly malty, and slightly sour. Not an enjoyable beer, and very similar to Alexander Keith’s Red.

Brown bottle, 341 ml, Ontario Craft Brewers Discovery Pack purchased at the LCBO, savoured on January 8 2008; eye: dark copper, clear, no effervescence, beige head that falls rather rapidly, no lacing; nose: malt, corn, light hops, diluted caramel; mouth: malt, a bit of cardboard, a bit of "itchiness" on the tip of the tongue, malty finale with hops more present than expected, slightly grainy texture but mainly watery, mildly sweet, lightly bitter, light-medium body, rather carboanted; overall: so?
