Bottle thanks to matt7215. Pours a hazy red with a small white head. The aroma is mostly a caramel malt. The taste is dominated by a somewhat spicy caramel flavored malt. Initially it is a quite fizzy and a spicy malt that is followed by a soft sludge of sweet and not pleasant finish. Not bad, but needs something, especially in the finish.

amber color, slight head aroma is odd kinda sweet, decent summer downer.!!!...

Clear dark red-brown. Off-white head w/ huge bubbles. Aroma of cook corn & wet cardboard. Thin, watery body. Bland carbonated water flavour w/ some licorice & fuel notes.

Another Dark Lager, how many lagers can one small brewery make!? two dark lagers, and one pale lager. Come on guys! you have made some great seasonals in the winter ale, the devils pale, and the orange peel ale. To be honest, i did a side by side with the black jack lager, and i dont see a difference.

reddish brown, off white head. scant aroma of caramel and malt. the flavour starts out toasty malt and goes a little bitter, but then disappears in a whirlwind of water and carbonation.

Bottle- Ontario Craft Brewers 6 pack at the LCBO. Very light malt aroma, very light malt flavour. Dark brown-red colour, small head. The End.

Brown bottle, 341 ml, Ontario Craft Brewers Discovery Pack purchased at the LCBO, savoured on January 8 2008; eye: dark copper, clear, no effervescence, beige head that falls rather rapidly, no lacing; nose: malt, corn, light hops, diluted caramel; mouth: malt, a bit of cardboard, a bit of "itchiness" on the tip of the tongue, malty finale with hops more present than expected, slightly grainy texture but mainly watery, mildly sweet, lightly bitter, light-medium body, rather carboanted; overall: so? Red amber hue with thin wispy head... sarbonated aroma slight apple cider. good body slightly weak though.... nothing special though...
