May 14, 2007 Rated 2/9/06: One of the better American Pale Ales that I have had. Being in North East Ohio, the beers from Great Lakes Brewing are always readily available and for that I am extremely thankful. Burning River is amber and copper in color, pours with ample head and leaves a nice trail of lacing as I empty my pint glass. The aroma is bursting with hop flavors comparable with most IPA’s. Pine and citrus notes are further detected. The flavor is everything a pale ale should be, well hopped with abundant malts. This beer is always an enjoyable experience. Well crafted to say the least.

May 13, 2007 Thick white head. Golden/amber pour. Nice balance. Not a big hop presence, which is what I usually like, but this works nicely. Hint of spice in the finish.

May 7, 2007 Pours a coppery golden color with a nice head. Lots of lacing on the glass as I drink. The aroma is is floral and hoppy. The flavor is ctrius y and hoppy with a nice dry finish. A fantastic beer. GLBC is a juggernaught!

May 6, 2007 Personally.... I’ve never seen a burning river. But I would like to. oh well. At least I got to try one. Good beer. righly hecommended. had it from tap of course. the best way to fully rate and re-rate a brew.

May 5, 2007 Pours a clear copper color with a nice one finger head that sticks around for a few minutes and leaves some lacing behind. Aroma is excellent citrus hops and really jumps out at you. Taste is citrus hops with some resiny pine. Surprisingly bitter for an APA, has more characteristics of an IPA. A little too bitter for me especially for an APA. Good beer, but not great.

Apr 30, 2007 Pours to a dark gold color with medium off-white head that lingers well and leaves good lacing. Nice, hoppy aroma and flavor. Mouthfeel was tingly and bitter, with the bitterness carrying over perfectly into the nice, long finish.

Apr 27, 2007 Pretty standard pale ale, better than average but not great. Citrus aromas were somewhat flat compared to other pale ales. Well balanced but a slightly bitter finish kind of killed the experience for me.

Apr 24, 2007 sample at the Cicago Green Fest. They brought 4 of their beers just hitting the Chicago market. This beer had a nice hops flavor and citrus. I dont think I would go out of my way to buy this one
Their best beer that Ive had was their golden German lager (dornuster?) just an excellent brew.
