I got cinnamon out of it but I couldn’t gather the rest. Good smeller. Good ccomplexity of spice flavor with some malt character. emerson430 (87), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Bottle and Draft in the last week: Wonderfully balanced sweetness and hoppyness. The spice notes are the obvious ginger and cinnamon but I detect other flavors like bitter orange and a hint of anise. Beautiful deep copper color and a thin off-white head. This is a beloved winter warmer. LinusStick (1852), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2007 A nice and spicy brew that would be great on a cold winter night. Unfortunately I couldn’t wait until winter to drink it. This is a pretty good beer. Aroma of pine, cinnamon and ginger. Pour was a dark gold with a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was the same as the aroma. Very spicy and gingery. Nice carbonation that pokes holes in the tongue. Something numbing about the aftertaste, but other than that pretty good. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2007 Pours a clear ruby/brown in color. There is no remaining head. There is some definite ginger in the nose, and it’s nice. Taste is much the same. Mouthfeel is medium in body and lively on the tongue. Very good, seasonal, sessionable brew. I enjoyed this years christmas ale more then last year. Dark amber with a light head. This beer is very spiced, but dosnet taste like christmas in a bottle. Have one of these on a cold winter night. Starts with a hoppy hint and finishes with a very crisp afterbirth.
Update: Dont age longer then 6 months. blastoff (21), Alabama, USA

This isn’t something you want to drink while eating wings or pizza. Only christmas ale I’ve had and it does kind of taste like christmas in a beer bottle.
