The aroma holds a melange of spices, but cinnamon is the most noticeable and the defining spice, aroma wise. Definitely has a Christmasy smell to it.
<P>
The body is amber to light brown and holds a small wispy tan/white head.

Fore is spicy with again cinammon and other spice, ginger seems right. Has a smoothness to it in the mouthfeel I like, but is thin and a touch watery too. It’s liquid christmas treats and I’d like to try it mulled to be honest. Fruit cake, cookies, fig pudding....all in a glass. DrewTaylor (154), Michigan, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 16, 2006 Bottle. Enjoy by date: 2/9/07. Cinnamon and nutmeg aroma; instantly gets you into the holiday spirit. Crystal clear brownish amber. Steady, visible carbonation. Thin, but lasting, off-white head. Not much in the way of lace. Nice flavor. This is a brew that, despite being enjoyable, you’d probably only want at this time of year. It very definitely has the spice thing going on...cinnamon is the most pervasive. The ginger is there, but more muted due to the honey sweet cinnamon. At 7.5%, it’s almost strong enough to be warming. The GL website doesn’t say anything about changing the recipe from year to year. Frankly, I think that’s a good thing. If you make a good seasonal, stick with the recipe. If you want to introduce a new recipe make it a different brew. There’s no law that says a brewer can only produce one holiday seasonal. Sam Adams has at least 3. Nice beer. Kudos to the folks at Great Lakes. AlabastorJones (765), San Francisco, California, USA

This beer poured a gold to copper color with white head. The aroma has some sweet malts and cinnamon. The flavor seems complex. I taste a couple malt variations, a bright cinnamon note, some sweet citrus and lighter notes of honey and ginger. cbkschubert (2002), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Very light spotty lacing. Has a light caramel malt aroma with a touch of spice. Has a honey/malt flavor. Not quite to my liking. Medium body. Wortha try. Thanks Jon.
