Aroma is nice - cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, anise, hops, honey and saffron. Flavor unfolds from the aroma, accentuating ginger, honey and cloves. An herbal lightness joins with a crisp sweetness and gentle resonance on the palate. A modest dance of sweet malts and 40 IBUs of floral hops leads to a crisp, clean, sweet and light finish. I know it says "Christmas" on the label but this is damn good on a hot, humid day. Plus, for a sixer on clearance for $2.99 that shows no sign of infection, this might trump any other beer bargain I’ve encountered. gsmitty80 (646), Washington DC, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2005 I dont know what took me soo long in rating this beer. Maybe it was the fact that i got wasted due to the 7.5%. Anyhow, it is a warm spice pick you up for those long cold winters. Cant go wrong with a case of this guy or a case of anserson valley winter seasonal or sierra nevada, all are in the realm of holly jolly beers. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2005 Bronze colored, foamy tan head. Sweet malt and chocolate aroma with a tone of alcohol. Caramel, some spices and chocolate in the flavor. Sweet and rather thin bodied, but pretty tasty. Boutip (2379), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 29, 2005 Bottle: Poured a light ruby color ale with a medium light brown foamy head with a quite excellent retention. Aroma of light spices, honey with some bitter hops. Taste is lighter then expected with the honey being immediately recognizable. Bitter taste at the end is also quite enjoyable. I would have hope for a bit more malt and more character for a ‘’Christmas’’ special type beer. DougiePhiTau (99), USA

| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Feb 14, 2005 I do not see how this beer gets such high ratings. It isn’t that good to begin with. Maybe I got a bad bottle. Poured out a deep amber color, with no head & no carbonation whatsoever. Aromas were non-existent. Flavors were bland and nothing stood out to me. A blah beer overall.
