Flavor of candy, cinnamon, and assorted spices that don’t match the inviting aroma. OK, but a bit messy. Beershine (2754), Traipsing Around, Cambodia
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 2, 2009 Draught, Redlight. Rich copper hue. Slight haze. Lovely thick, thick creamy lacy head leaving a thick lacing. Nice looking brew. Douglas fir, juniper, and holly aromas. Such a nice departure from ho-ho-hum mulling spice brand of Christmas beer. Exceptional smoothness. Soft and silky. Lovely brew, I love this brewery!! juiceisloose (677), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2009 From a keg brought down from Ohio by Dragonstout and Beervirgin. Pours a pretty clear dark red color with a small, foamy white head that quickly fades away. The aroma has hints of dark fruits, caramel, ginger, and cinnamon. The spices give it a nice fresh smell. The flavor follows suit with the ginger, cinnamon, and other spices coming through, with sweet cookie and caramel malts in the background. The ginger is present throughout and adds a nice touch. Medium bodied mouthfeel and goes down smooth. Different from most christmas ales I have had. Nice stuff. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Pours a bright illuminating copper colour with a big white head. Nutmeg, cinnamon and honey on the nose with flavors of the same, but very creamy- rich and filling. ditmier (1114), Boise, Idaho, USA

Pours with a smallish, light brown head with a slightly hazed copper body and good lace. Aroma of maple syrup, cereal, wet dog and light spices. Taste is maple syrup, caramel, cinnamon, and cereal. Pleasant. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, light carbonation.
