A rich roasted nutty aroma that draws you closer to reveal more malty scents along with a dose of floral hops. Medium brown body producing a nice settling head and very good lacing. Medium bodied, rich and malty with an assertive bitterness. Extremely robust flavor chock full of nuts, toast, mild coffee and those wonderful floral hops. Great brown, I’m glad to have finally been able to enjoy this at the brewpub.

On tap at great lakes. Notes of toast, earth, caramel, and chocolate. Decent beer, more earthy than i expected. a little rough a round the edges, but not bad.

medium brown, nice white head. some hop to the nose. mild bitterness followed by a good deal of citrusy hop flavor before a little toasted malt and some yeasty esters before a nice dry finish. the hops distract from the malt aspects of the brew and there is very little chocolate flavor here, a decent brown ale, but the recipe could use some adjusting

Bottle from trade from fiver29. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet and chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body. Solid balanced toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew.

Shared by beervirgin at Cbus 9. Pours a dark brown color with a smallish tan head. Aroma is caramel, slight chocolate, some toffee perhaps. Flavor is caramel, chocolate, molasses. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finishes sweet. This was a very nice surprise for a style that rarely impresses me.

22 oz. bottle from the Brewery, bought in September. Pours a clear deep brown color with a fairly thick white head. Toasty, caramel aromas with a hint of earthy hops in the background. Taste is similar with a more profound hop presence. Still has the brown ale malty qualities, but a nice hop bite. Clean finish with a bit if residual sweetness. A nice beer, but not worth the $10 a bottle pricetag.

Shared by Leopoldstoch at C-bus 9. Deep brown color with a small head. The aroma was of sweet malts, milk chocolate, and caramel. The taste was a nice creamy coffee flavor with hints of vanilla and molasses. I rather enjoyed this one.

Shared at the Cbus tasting by Butters...I like the sweet malty ones and this did not disappoint. Taste of sweet caramel and brown sugar.
