| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 29, 2007 Poured a clear orange to copper color with a very thin head, not much lacing. The aroma was hard to pick up, some toffee and caramel notes, toasty too. The flavor was a little imbalanced toward sweet, yet no where near cloying and certainly balanced by the toasted earthy notes (somewhat like Blue Point’s Toasted Lager). With temperature, a touch of fruity esters appeared. Mouthfeel was moderate and with a little stickiness. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2007 12 oz. bottle, drink by date 3/27/07. rystal clear coppery amber under an off white head of medium size, settling to a fine layer in a few minutes. Light malty nose of caramel and a hint of light stone fruit. No hop aroma to speak of, but that is not unexpected with this style. Smooth mouthfeel with medium carbonation and body. This doesn’t have any big in your face flavors, but rather a gentle malty sweetness, and just enough bitterness to bring things into balance. Drinkable, subtle, a good session beer. bdjames29 (272), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 26, 2007 Bottle. A bit of a rare variety for me as this may be the first beer I’ve rated that falls specifically into the Irish Ale category, though I have had similar beers. Not overwhelming or complex in any department. A bright, deep copper color with minimal head. Slight bananna aroma. A rather bitter beer when compared to the bottle description - expecting more hoppy characteristics. A nice, drinkable brew - but not one of my favorites from Great Lakes. b33r (363), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
