Small bubbles rise in vertical shafts from the sides of the glass, quite aggressively. Clear. Off-white head is quickly receding to ring. Smells of light raspberries, dry toast/toasted malt, hints of alcohol. Tastes of sweet and buttery malt, lots of waxy crayons. It’s either wax or baked dough I’m tasting. Medium body, much too dry and bready on the end and I just can’t shake the notion that I’m tasting ground up crayons. Low carbonation. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2005 Bottle: Amber, mediocre foamy off-white head, sparce lacing, strong carbonation. Grainy nose, subtle roasted malts. Underlying sweet malt background, emergence of graininess half way through but subsides quickly. Moderate mouthfeel and body. Minor hop note & soft pale fruit at the finish. Clean and smooth. Seems more of an Amber than an Irish/Red Ale. Thanks Matt D!
