It has a clear copper color. The nose is nice with a slight hoppiness. The taste is a good mix of malty and hoppy. I could drink this all day. Ritterkreuz (179), Seneca Falls, New York, USA

Very smooth and easy to drink, not a very strong aroma, pours a copperish color with a thin head that disolved fairly quick. A very tiny hint of hops on the after-taste. Not much lace. Aroma is very unique. Biscuity and bready. I am reminded of many foods. I can’t decide if it’s a good smell or not. Taste is smooth and crisp, light but refreshing. The flavor is not astounding but this seems like a nice beer to drink a lot of. jstraw (776), Chicago, Illinois, USA

I kind of gave this brew a disadvantage of following two more flavorful beers (Anchor Bock and North Coast PranQster). As such it was quite underwhelming initially. I was deciding whether to get this brew or Allagash White and was immediately regretting the decision. However, as my palate adjusted, the favorable qualities of Dortmunder Gold came out. Basic lageraroma. Completely clear gold with no visible carbonation. Slightly off-white head. No lace. Not much head. Pretty basic. Not as good as Two Brothers’ Dog Days Dortmunder but a nice Dort nonetheless. WeeHeavySD (3041), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

Pours yellowish amber with a big fluffy tan head that peaked over the top of my glass. The aroma is sweet and light. Wow, this is a really tasty lager, with a nice spicy edge, that I can’t quite put my finger on. Tasty. wmubronco1992 (189), Coldwater, Michigan, USA

First time I had this as a draft. Copper color, very smooth. Overall very nice beer. Much better then the 6 pack I bought a couple years ago. I will have again and would recommend to others. | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 7, 2007 I bought a six pack of this GOLD after reading alot of good reviews on it. But i must say i really didn,t enjoy it very much . The first one seems OK but by the 2nd bottle there was an overwheling taste of Honey which i don,t care much for. For how much i paid for a six pack of this stuff i,d have to rename it FOOLSGOLD. I don,t mean to sound harsh it,s just not what i was expecting.
