Rating could be slightly inflated because I drank after a long MTB ride which only made the beer taste better.

Pours a deep golden with a thin head. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Delicious roasted malt with a perfect hop balance in the background. Finishes crisp and clean. Another GREAT beer from Great Lakes. WVHouseofBeer (388), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2009 Another solid offering from Great Lakes. Nice aroma of floral hops and had a great sweetness to it. The one I had was expired by a month and a half, so I can only imagine how good it would have been if it wasn’t expired! thewombat (112), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 21, 2009 draft- very light malt aroma, golden amber color, hoppy and slightly bitter, with a sharp flavor that gives a long aftertaste. A nice smooth beer. RHeastings (418), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2009 Enjoyed via 12oz bottle in a pub glass. I’ve enjoyed this beer on several occasions, and I believe that, when sampled fresh, it is the best example of a Dortmunder Export outside of Dortmund itself. It pours a straw-colored gold; basically a light yellow color. Aromas of malt come though in the nose. The palate is straightforward, but crisp and clean. Malt and a hop balance. The finish is crisp and dry. This is the perfect beer for the 90 degree summer day (along with IPA perhaps). Another excellently styled example from Great Lakes. trayns (242), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours a yellow gold color with a medium white head, Aroma is grainy, a little hoppy, and subtle sweet. Taste is very smooth and enjoyable. The taste is well balanced, weird hoppy flavor with a modest malty balance. The palate is nice, not too thin, but a nice medium body and nice to drink. madvike (343), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 8, 2009 Updated: Sep 20, 2009Bottle - While this was consumed before the best buy date, my guess is a little skunk has crept in. The pour is great -- golden with a foamy, sexy white head. Smells of barley, grains, and a touch of hops -- pleasant and crisp. The taste is sweet malt with a little hops bite at the end, along with that nice grain taste. Refreshing.
Re-rate: Obtained a much fresher bottle that had a while to go before its best by date. Much fruitier than I remember, with some lemon and orange notes. The skunk is gone, so can chalk that up the freshness of the last bottle. Clean and crisp--one I could drink all day.
