ElJefe (506), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 6, 2008 Fluffy white head sits atop a light coppered colored body. Wonderful aroma of cookie and caramel laced with spicy and earthy hops. Bready, doughy sweet flavor, with spicy/earthy hops presense that really comes on in the finish. Body heavier than I expected. Now that this is available in NY, it is a staple in my fridge.
mallons_72 (4), livonia, Michigan, USA does not count Aug 26, 2008 golden brown color - very little head - leaves a nice lacing. Does have a grassy smell. A good bite to it, taste peppery. Not bad. flatmatt (74), Northville, Michigan, USA Aug 20, 2008 12 oz bottle, best by date 08/06/08. Pours golden amber with a small white head. Aroma is mainly malts with just a touch of grassy hops. Flavor is a pleasant balance of pale malts and light bitter hops. Not much to describe, but this is a very nice, drinkable beer. PolakPorter (60), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 15, 2008 OK. Malty some grassy hops. All in all, quite the taster. Not to shabby at all. Nice balance, no detection of biscuitness or queef-like aroma. One of the best American lagers I’ve tried. Doesn’t quite compare to the other Great Lakes offerings, but then again, this isn’t really my style. Still though, props. Jah live, children yeah. ewestern (81), Ohio, USA Aug 12, 2008 Clear golden color with a short lasting white head. Aroma is a sweet malty fruit combination. Flavor is the same with some honey poking through. The finish is somewhat characteristic of Great Lakes, a sharp bitter bite (I think due to the pasteurization), that thankfully does last as long as most GL brews. AskForJenny (430), Ontario, New York, USA Aug 12, 2008 12oz - Carmel color, small but robust light tan head, grassy notes on nose, maybe a little waxy. Spicy bite on the front, quickly shifting to malt and mild, mild hops.
