zootfinster (153), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 13, 2008 A typical dortmunder. Medium body, not really hoppy, slightly citric. Enjoyable but nothing to writhe home about
flatmatt (68), Northville, Michigan, USA Aug 20, 2008 12 oz bottle, best by date 08/06/08. Pours golden amber with a small white head. Aroma is mainly malts with just a touch of grassy hops. Flavor is a pleasant balance of pale malts and light bitter hops. Not much to describe, but this is a very nice, drinkable beer. PolakPorter (50), , Illinois, USA Aug 15, 2008 OK. Malty some grassy hops. All in all, quite the taster. Not to shabby at all. Nice balance, no detection of biscuitness or queef-like aroma. One of the best American lagers I’ve tried. Doesn’t quite compare to the other Great Lakes offerings, but then again, this isn’t really my style. Still though, props. Jah live, children yeah. ewestern (62), Ohio, USA Aug 12, 2008 Clear golden color with a short lasting white head. Aroma is a sweet malty fruit combination. Flavor is the same with some honey poking through. The finish is somewhat characteristic of Great Lakes, a sharp bitter bite (I think due to the pasteurization), that thankfully does last as long as most GL brews. AskForJenny (429), Ontario, New York, USA Aug 12, 2008 12oz - Carmel color, small but robust light tan head, grassy notes on nose, maybe a little waxy. Spicy bite on the front, quickly shifting to malt and mild, mild hops. Capa (719), Yokosuka, Japan Aug 11, 2008 Copper pour with a finger deep, off-white head. Fruity, malts, biscuit, and light herbal tones in the aroma. Medium, crisp body. The biscuit malts back a nice fresh fruit and crisp hops flavor. Been a fan of this beer for quite some time.
