| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 3, 2009 On draft in Cleveland, OH. Pours light amber with decent helping of head that quickly dissipates. First time trying this style. Flavor is sweet and floral with grass. Has a funny taste that I’ve noticed with most Great Lakes beers, I think it is the water they use (the crystal clear water of Lake Erie?). kiefdog (1609), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Bottle courtesy of markwise. Pours a clear amber to copper color with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of hay, grass, honey, light floral esters. Flavor is about the same. Light body with a light floral hop finish. Onslow (176), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Amber pour from a 12 oz bottle. One fat finger of head that soon dissapates. Not much to the aroma, though what is there is clean and fresh. Very tasty - flavor dominated by malt but punctuated with decent hoppiness that smacks the back of the tongue. Satisfying mouthfeel with active carbonation. Good stuff! inkubus27 (250), Highland, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Pours copper to amber color... Aroma is sweet and malty, nothing hoppy here. Flavor is carmelly with some biscuit and sweet malt. Nice medium light mouthfeel. Just enough hopping to provide some balance. nickd717 (1358), Palo Alto, California, USA

This beer is great for the style, an amazing light-colored lager. Pours a bright clear golden color with a small white head that leaves a foamy ring around the glass. Aroma is grassy and floral hops, pale malt, and grain. Flavor is grainy yet very pleasant with pale bready malt, great grassy and fruity hops, and a little butter. Flavor really jumps out. Excellent palate, medium-light in body with a hoppy kick lasting on the palate. Crisp and dry. Great Dortmunder lager overall. jcos (50), Maryland, USA

Aroma is slightly sweet - rather pleasant actually.
Appearance is a decent brown. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavor. Average carbonation.
A good lager beer. ben4321 (1021), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma: It has lots of grains, biscuits, lemon, with some floral and earth
Appearance: Pours a clear golden-orange with a thin white head
Flavor: The taste is malty nd sweet (honey) with some nice hops for balance
Palate: This beer is very crisp, refreshing, smooth, and highly drinkable
Overall Impression:
I have to say this beer really hits on the idea of being crisp and refreshing. I love the way this one drinks, it’s got the typical flavors of the style, only stronger then your avvvvvvveraagge beer (I know, I know - bad Yogi Bear joke). It really is quite a wonderfully made example of a Dortmunder. I’m not even a huge fan of this style, but this one really shows how good a well-made lager can be. Now lets just hope Hanna-Barbera doesn’t sue me...
