Ah what a great Porter! Had a great roasted aroma and a strong chocolate taste. Felt great going down, and it’s pretty easy to drink for this style.

One of my favorite porters. Since this is an old review, I’m going to have to come back to it now that I can review properly.

On tap at Capone’s, thanks Matt! Pours a deep black with 3-4 fingers of head which stays around a long time. Aroma is deep and burnt chocolatey. Taste is the same as the smell. Mouthfeel is rich and dark, like drinking a very full bodied expresso. An excellent porter, the best I’ve ever tasted.

Bottle from Archer Liquors. Dark brown color with ruby notes and a decent tan head. Aroma of darkly roasted malt. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is quite nutty, with dark toast malt and some coffee and chocolate. It’s quite tasty. It finishes a bit astringent. It’s sweet but bitter. Amazing stuff. Quite unexpected.

Draft. Included as part of a sampler at the brewpub in Cleveland. I remembered liking pretty much everything but do not remember specifics. Do remember that they have an excellent brewpub with excellent beer. The EF Porter is the one I remember most and liked the best out of all the offerings.
