Aroma of of coffee, bitter chocolate, malt, and brown sugar. Taste is of bitter chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, brown sugar, and a nice hop taste underneath. It has a nice porter taste, with a hop character that makes it very drinkable. Body is medium, with lots of carbonation. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light, making it go down easy. One of the most drinkable porters that doesn’t compromise flavor for it. jbrus (4893), Delft, Netherlands

Aroma is a collection of chocolate and roasted malts, with a nice, "Perfect Porter" light chocolate-tinged white head. At first taste, the Edmund Fitzgerald demands your attention with a bit of bitter bite. Yet with every drink after that the coffee and dark chocolate notes fill both the palate and the scoresheet. One of, if not my favorite Porter. jamvin23 (162), chicago, Illinois, USA

Pours a mahogany color with a small head, good head retention and lacing. Aroma is roasty and nutty malts with rich chocolate notes. Taste is roasted malts, nuts, chocolate, coffee and minty hops. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2009 Bottle, pours deep earthy garnet with hints of ruby with a small tan head. Redolent of roasted barley, coffee, caramel, sweet dark fruits, citric hops, some alcohol. Flavor is roast barley, caramel, toffee, sweet malt, coffee, subtle chocolate mixed in with the dry bittersweet hops at the end. Palate is a little too carbonated leading the body to feel somewhat like a soda, it is however nicely warming in the end which is rather distinguishing.
