Pours a dark, tarrish brown that is completely opaque. Aroma is a collection of chocolate and roasted malts, with a nice, "Perfect Porter" light chocolate-tinged white head. At first taste, the Edmund Fitzgerald demands your attention with a bit of bitter bite. Yet with every drink after that the coffee and dark chocolate notes fill both the palate and the scoresheet. One of, if not my favorite Porter.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of dankman. Thanks! Pours a mahogany color with a small head, good head retention and lacing. Aroma is roasty and nutty malts with rich chocolate notes. Taste is roasted malts, nuts, chocolate, coffee and minty hops. Medium bodied.

Bottle, pours deep earthy garnet with hints of ruby with a small tan head. Redolent of roasted barley, coffee, caramel, sweet dark fruits, citric hops, some alcohol. Flavor is roast barley, caramel, toffee, sweet malt, coffee, subtle chocolate mixed in with the dry bittersweet hops at the end. Palate is a little too carbonated leading the body to feel somewhat like a soda, it is however nicely warming in the end which is rather distinguishing.

Pours a dark brown opaque color with a small tan head. Nose of roasted malt, coffee and sweet malt, nose is overall ok. Initial taste of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate. Mild bitterness in the mid palate to finish. Dry finish, light body. Palate duration is above average. Head retention is good. Looking for more flavor. Overall a decent porter but nothing special.

Poured a clear deep brown color with a red tint and beige head. Mild coffee and roasted malt aroma. A touch of smoke and sweetness mix together. Roasted malt flavor. Semi-sweet. Dry mildly bitter finish. Light body with a long finish.

I’ve had both bottle and draft. It is good out of the bottle and great on draft. Almost black. Good roast coffee aroma. Good mouthfeel, finishes bitter with some chocolate flavor. A very good porter.

A good porter. Dark brown to black pour with a thin dark tan head. Main aroma/flavor is roasted coffee with some undertones of dark chocolate. Some flavor is detectable, but mainly only in the bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel for easy drinking.
