12 oz. bottle. Dark brown color with thin, light tan head. Aroma of chocolate powder. Nice roasted chocolate flavor. Smooth and silky. Long lasting bitter finish. Another great one from Great Lakes.

Pours a pretty dark brown. Chocolate, coffee, slight blackberry. More carbonation that some for a porter. Also a little more of a hop bite, and finishes crisp and clean. All and all a good porter, would recommend.

Pours out a dark redish brown, light tan head and great lacing. Nose- powdered chocolate milk, red fruits and faint roast. Taste- medium to light bodied with relatively high carbonation. Figs, raisins, dark chocolate and burnt toast. Finish is quite burnt. Initially I thought this brew was light on flavour but grows on me through the course of the bottle and it warming up. Very nice porter and I lift my glass to Gordon Lightfoot for bringing back memories on his haunting song whilst enjoying this fine porter.

Poured very dark brown, almost black with a tan head that receded to a ring around the glass. Rich smell of cherries, cocoa, some espresso notes, molasses, and currants. Amazing smell, especially for a regular porter. Roast coffee upfront, before leading into cocoa and some hoppiness, then some of the dark fruit comes through before a dry coffee finish. Medium carbonation and light to medium bodied, pretty slick and oily on the tongue. Really a joy to drink, I wish this was easier to get here in Iowa.

Another great beer from great lakes. Pours black with a nice creamy head. hints of coffee and roasted chocolate. have never really had a bad porter but it is fair to say this is the best i have had. It just seems to be everything one would look for in this type of beer.

Has a nice, but not strong aroma and holds a fair head. Tastes of coffee grounds with some sweetness and citrus in the aftertaste. A good example of the style.

Pours a clear dark brown, looks the way pepsi cola does on a warm summer afternoon, inviting. Wonderful roasted aroma. Smells the way a chocolate flavored medium roast coffee would, sweetened with brown sugar and maple syrup. The flavor is everything the aroma promises, wonderful. Like a perfect cup of coffee. The palate is a but thin but fits well with the beer. By no means am I disappointed. Bring on some more!

12 oz bottle courtesy of lb4lb. Pours an opaque dark brown color with a small khaki head that quickly fades to 1/8 inch and holds. The aroma is moderate in strength with milk chocolate, a bit of molasses and burnt toast. The taste is all chocolate; milk, dark and biter-sweet. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. The finish is short, dry and clean. Overall: One of the better porters I have sampled, complex, delicious and easy drinking. Recommended.
