Oct 7, 2009 Sampled at WBF in Duham - this beer came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Poured a dark reddish brown - almost black - color with a foamy tan head. Nice aroma of chocolate and a french roast coffee. Nice smooth taste of malt, chocolate, and dark coffee with a hint of licorice and bitterness. Perfect carbonation. Very solid beer that I will be very happy to see if/when they start distributing in NC.

Sep 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours very dark with only a thin sheath of head. Transmits only a little light, looks reddish-purple in the light. Aroma is of chocolate and coffee, smells delicious!! A long, complex flavor. Take your first sip carefully and think about it for a good minute. Very smooth, pretty well balanced. This is a GREAT porter!
