Bottle courtesy of fiver29 & BR007. Pours a clear dark brown/black with a 2 finger fluffy off-white head w/nice lacing. Nose is chocolate and coffee with a sweet toffee-like background. Palate is light roasted coffee and chocolate upfront that progresses into a bitter hoppy finish. Lighter mouth feel. Would be better with a more full body, but still a great porter. Thanks John and Brian for the beer! I’ve got that song stuck in my head now though...

12 oz. bottle - big thanks to fiver29 for the trade; jet black with thin, cream-colored head; sweet, roasty aromas come right at you; a tasty mixe of chocolate and coffee with a mild roastyness - very pleasant aromas; accordingly, it drinks equally rich and smooth with a thick, creamy body; very soft and tasty; flavors of mild coffee and sweet chocolate; perfect run from nose to flavors to texture and finally to finish; just damn good across the board and perhaps my favorite porter to date

Taupe head, moderate lacing, good thin cloud cover over the black walnut-crimson hue. Nose of dutch cocoa powder, cold coffee, and hop spice. Excellent creaminess on the palate soothes the coffee and the malt presence sweetens the cocoa. Balanced finish leading towards a roasted hint of smoke with a lingering hop fade. Well made, tasty, refreshing and thought provoking.

Dark brown with small white head. Scent of coffee and chocolate. Palate has more bread in it but is a nice balance. A little salty of an aftertaste. Palate is a little clean for me. Good, not the blackout though.

12 oz bottle with a 5/7/07 "best by" date. Not sure what they’re talking about, but this one ages absolutely fantastic!! It definitely has thinned a bit, but the flavors all blended together like magic on the tongue! Goodness...!!!

12 oz. bottle courtesy of my Secret Santa. Pours black with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of chocolate, lightly roasted malt, and some coffee. The flavor is a bit more tilted towards the malt with some coffee and chocolate detected as well. Moderate bitterness at the finish. This is a very enjoyable porter.

Sampled at the Savor DC event. Pours a heavy looking opaque black with a whispy white head. Malty aroma with roasted nuts and coffee. Flavor is sweet and nutty and very well rounded. Finish is clean and dry. One of the better dark beers sampled at this event.
